Today I will share my impressions of the painting that first comes to your mind when you hear the word "Louvre".

This was the second time I'd seen Mona Lisa live. This is probably the most famous and one of the most mysterious paintings in the world, about which books have been written, many films have been shot and many theories have been put forward, including conspiracy theories. This picture does not require an introduction or long conversations about it.
Перше, що вражає - її розмір. Це реально досить невеличкий портрет, на якому зображена дружина італійського торговця шовком Франческо дель Джоконда на честь народження його сина дружиною Лізою. Портрет датується початком 16 століття.
The first thing that impresses is its size. This is actually a rather small portrait, which depicts the wife of the Italian silk merchant Francesco del Gioconda in honor of the birth of his and Lisa's son. The portrait dates back to the early 16th century.
Другим вражає організована черга до картини та довжина цієї черги. Як видно з фото, вона огорожена як в аеропорту. Я можу зрозуміти ажіотаж до найвідомішої, найбільш розпіареної та найбільш популярної картини світу.
The second impression is the organized queue to the painting and the length of this queue. As can be seen from the photo, it is fenced as at the airport. I can understand the excitement towards the most famous, most popular and most popular picture in the world.
Але я була неприємно вражена іншим: люди вистоюють цю величезну чергу, щоб зробити декілька селфі з картиною і піти. Мало хто зупиняється, щоб аби щось роздивитися та взагалі насолодитися шедевромм. У виправжання відвідувачів можна сказати, що атмосфера в цьому залі м'яко кажучи не "споглядацька" - кількість людей, які чекають у тебе за спиною, трохи напружує.
But I was unpleasantly surprised by a different thing: people stand in this huge queue to take a few selfies with the painting and leave. Few people stop to see something and enjoy the masterpiece. To defend the visitors, I can say that the atmosphere in this hall is, to put it mildly, not "contemplative" - the number of people waiting behind you is a little pressing.
В тому ж залі, що й Мона Ліза, можемо побачити інший шедевр від Паоло Веронезе епохи Ренесансу - "Шлюб у Кані". На полотні зображено 130 осіб, картина монументальна. В центрі композиції зображений Іісус, який є гостем на весіллі у галійському поселенні Кана. Саме тут він здійснив своє перше чудо - на прохання своєї матері перетворив воду на вино, коли останнє закінчилося. Мабуть, це одна з найбльш недооцінених картин Лувру через свою більш відому сусідку, проте вона точно варта уваги та детального роздивляння!
In the same hall as the Mona Lisa, we can see another masterpiece by Paolo Veronese of the Renaissance period - "Marriage in Cana". The canvas depicts 130 people, the picture is monumental. In the center of the composition is Jesus, who is a guest at a wedding in the Gaelic settlement of Cana. It was here that he performed his first miracle - at the request of his mother, he turned water into wine when the latter ran out. This is probably one of the most underestimated paintings of the Louvre because of its more famous neighbor, but it is definitely worth a look and a detailed contemplation!
