Вітаю, шановні читачі! Сьогодні хотілось би розглянути монету моєї з колекції номіналом 10 сантимів. В перекладі сантим означає сто. Монети з такою назвою використовувались і продовжують перебувати в обігу в багатьох країнах, наприклад, Марокко, Ефіопія. Французька розмінна монета, що розглядається, важить 3 г, а розмір — 20 мм. Для виготовлення використовували алюміній та мідь.
Карбування монет номіналом 10 сантимів було завершено в 2002 році. Першу ж монету саме такого зразка випустили у 1959. Взагалі, перші сантими викарбували в кінці 18 століття. Монети виготовляли з бронзи. В наступному столітті для виготовлення розмінної монети великого номіналу використовували срібло, а меншого — бронзу та мідь. З 80-х років минулого століття монети номіналом 1 сантим карбувати майже припинили у зв'язку з інфляцією. Виробляли монети вказаного номіналу виключено для колекційних цілей. Так, вже перед переходом Франції на євро у 2001 році регулятор випустив серію монет номіналом 1 сантим із золота.
На реверсі зображена гілка оливи та колоски, а в центральній частині — номінал. Також внизу вказано рік виготовлення, а у верхній частині — напис Свобода Рівність Братство.
З іншого боку по колу нанесено назву країни (Французька Республіка). Центральну частину займає портрет Маріанни, французького символу свободи ще з 18 століття. Зображення виконано відомим французьким скульптором Анрі Лагріфуль. Французький регулятор не забув про виконавця й наніс його ім'я безпосередньо на аверс монети. Напис LAGRIFFOUL розташований зліва внизу від портрета Маріанни. Монета зовсім недорога й купити її на українських майданчиках можна за кілька гривень.

Greetings, dear readers! Today I would like to consider a coin from my collection with a denomination of 10 centimes. In translation, santim means one hundred. Coins with this name were used and continue to be in circulation in many countries, for example, Morocco, Ethiopia. The French exchange coin in question weighs 3g and measures 20mm. Aluminum and copper were used for production.
The minting of 10-centime coins was completed in 2002. The first coin of this type was issued in 1959. In general, the first centimes were minted at the end of the 18th century. Coins were made of bronze. In the next century, silver was used to make exchange coins of a large denomination, and bronze and copper were used for smaller denominations. Since the 80s of the last century, coins with a denomination of 1 cent were almost stopped being minted due to inflation. Coins of the specified denomination were produced except for collection purposes. So, even before the transition of France to the euro in 2001, the regulator issued a series of coins with a denomination of 1 centime made of gold.
The reverse shows an olive branch and an ear of corn, and the denomination in the central part. The year of manufacture is also indicated at the bottom, and the inscription Freedom Equality Brotherhood is at the top.
On the other side, the name of the country (French Republic) is drawn around the circle. The central part is occupied by a portrait of Marianne, a French symbol of freedom since the 18th century. The image was made by the famous French sculptor Henri Lagriful. The French regulator did not forget about the performer and put his name directly on the obverse of the coin. The inscription LAGRIFFOUL is located at the bottom left of the portrait of Marianna. The coin is quite inexpensive and you can buy it on Ukrainian platforms for a few hryvnias.
