Acoto, que las diferencias de edades, nacer en generaciones seguidas, las costumbres de cómo hacer las cosas van adquiriendo otros matices en esas celebraciones populares como es el nacimiento de un niño. También influye el roce social que se tenga desde la niñez y cómo vamos añadiendo ingredientes a estas celebraciones.

Voy con el tema de los nombres…

Recuerdo mucho cuando estaba en edad adolescente siempre surgía el tema con mis padres acerca de los nombres que nos colocaron a cada uno (somos 8 hermanos), y mi madre contaba así como molesta esas historias, parece que nunca llegaba a acuerdos con mi padre en ese tema.

Parece que fue su trauma.

Contaba que a mi hermana mayor ella escogió el nombre, sin comunicarlo…la segunda pasó como un mes sin darle nombre porque los que llevaba mi papá no le agradaban…al tercero no hubo discusión porque es varón y colocaron el nombre de mi papá…la que siguió no hubo obstáculo de parte de mi mamá y quien escogió el nombre fue mi papá…la que siguió también mi papá fue el encargado y mi mamá no aprobaba j aja ja …que conflicto y mi papá la llamaba chichita, j aja ja , hasta que al fin acordaron uno…luego vino mi otro hermano…allí parece que no hubo discusión fue mi mamá quien escogió el nombre…vine yo…aaayyy …

Igual no había acuerdos y mi papá quiso llamarme Mercedes en honor a una prima que el quería mucho y a raíz de un problema de salud quedó invalida, pero así mismo trabajó como profesora y se destacaba en su profesión a pesar de las limitaciones físicas que presentó (mi papá la admiraba) como mi mamá no le agradaba mucho me canchó el Margarita (por supuesto que mi nombre traía mucha burla y no me agradaba mi nombre)vino mi hermana menor y como ya mi mamá estaba un poco nerviosa porque pasaron 5 años sin embarazarse le colocó Carmen por la virgen del Carmen a quien ella le tiene mucha Fe, además que es su primer nombre y le canchó el Rosalia por la Virgen de Santa Rosalia del pueblo donde mi mamá vivio su adolescencia Zuata/Anzoátegui.

Escribir esto me ha hecho reír mucho, recordando esa cultura de cómo se escogieron los nombres de mis hermanos, una santa diatriba entre mis padres.

Cuando me tocó a mí como madre, mi esposo hizo un acuerdo conmigo si era varón el escogía el nombre y era niña lo escogería yo… allí no tuvimos problemas, no estuve muy de acuerdo con el que escogió para mi hijo cuando se supo el sexo, pero dije: es un nombre fuerte pero el va a crecer y se convertirá en hombre…por supuesto nació varón…con mi hija mantuve el Laura pero cambié el segundo…ya aquí tenía unas pequeñas ideas de qué significaba la escogencia de los nombres de los hijos y las herencias a través de ellos.

Ahora en las nuevas generaciones hacen hasta concursos en las redes sociales para la escogencia de los nombres…de acuerdo a mi conocimiento y entender un poco más el tema de Lealtades Familiares, sostengo que eso es muy personal la escogencia de un nombre para un niño que viene al mundo, siempre escribo cuando veo esos concursos que escoja el nombre que le dicte el corazón por todo el amor que se despliega a través de él. mXkfdToSwHy1F6xC7iNSf4gD4njuiH2TJnH2d9a7sjEgsxpt7CEU4CCztgbsbxwU86y2W2kPqn2JiERrCQmXbePRvuffnLcpZWAgXRdW5 (1).gif

En cuanto al saber el sexo del nuevo miembro de la familia.

En la época de mi mamá, hacían apuestas entre los conocidos si era niña o niño…entonces se llevaban por el tamaño de la barriga, la forma, si la mujer se puso fea o bonita durante el embarazo.

En mi época de embarazo supimos el sexo del primero a los 7 meses de embarazo…con la niña no se dejaba ver y fue casi ya para el momento de la operación…por esto llevé dos nombres a la enfermera que me atendió…j aja ja…cuando se conocía el sexo era motivo de alegría para la familia.

Ahora, se hace una fiesta con bombos y platillos con mucha creatividad cuando se va a dar a conocer a los familiares el sexo del próximo miembro de la familia.

Bueno hay mucho más que contar y los cambios de generación tras generación, puede ser para otro post.

I agree, that age differences, being born in back-to-back generations, the customs of how to do things are acquiring other nuances in these popular celebrations such as the birth of a child. I remember when I was a teenager the topic always came up with my parents about the names they gave each of us (we are 8 siblings), and my mother told those stories as annoying, it seems that she never reached an agreement with my father on that topic.

It seems that it was her trauma. He said that she chose the name for my older sister, without communicating it...the second sister spent about a month without giving her a name because she didn't like the ones my dad had...the third one there was no discussion because he is a boy and they gave him my dad's name...the next one there was no obstacle from my mom and my dad chose the name.... the one that followed also my dad was in charge and my mom did not approve ha ha ha ...what a conflict and my dad called her chichita, ha ha ha ha , until they finally agreed on one...then my other brother came...there seems to be no discussion it was my mom who chose the name...I came...aaayyy ....

There was no agreement and my dad wanted to name me Mercedes in honor of a cousin he loved very much and because of a health problem she became disabled, but she worked as a teacher and excelled in her profession despite the physical limitations she had (my dad admired her) as my mom did not like me much she called me Margarita (of course my name brought a lot of mockery and I did not like my name) my younger sister came and as my mom was a little nervous because 5 years passed without getting pregnant she named her Carmen after the virgin of Carmen to whom she has a lot of faith, She also gave her the name Rosalia for the Virgin of Santa Rosalia from the town where my mom lived her adolescence in Zuata/Anzoátegui.

Writing this has made me laugh a lot, remembering that culture of how the names of my siblings and I were chosen, a holy diatribe between my parents.

In my mom's day, they would make bets among acquaintances whether it was a girl or a boy...then they would go by the size of the belly, the shape, whether the woman got ugly or pretty during pregnancy.

In my time of pregnancy we knew the sex of the first one at 7 months of pregnancy...with the girl it was not visible and it was almost at the time of the operation...this is why I took two names to the nurse who attended me...ha ha ha...when the sex was known it was a reason for joy for the family.

Now, there is a party with hype with lots of creativity when the sex of the next member of the family is to be announced to the relatives.
