So for those less familiar with D&D or the genre in general, here's the breakdown... first, Magnus casts invisibility on Nolan before stepping out to confront Vanifer. Second, he keeps Vanifer pre-occupied in a spell duel so Nolan is able to move into position. Third, Magnus intends to fake a fall by one of Vanifer's spells, but she takes him by surprise with a critical melee hit to the crotch. And lastly, despite Magnus' miscalculation, Nolan is able to use the invisibility and his rogue sleight-of-hand skills to pickpocket the magic elemental dagger off of the big bad boss lady.
I wish we could say that during our own run through this adventure that we were a crew with this kind of devious & sly methods. You know, like you'd see on the TV show "Leverage". But oh no... we were more like the "Deadpool" freeway scene. With more blood and explosions, and possibly even more bad language.
Okay yes, it's not the best way to win a fight; but it is "a" way... 😏
