My riding story

Can I be a little naughty here? There's one natural ability that many of us didn't learn and when we venture into it the first time, we did it quite well. Our partner can testify

Are you thinking what I'm thinkingšŸ˜‚?

Seeing people do some things over and over again can make it stick in your brain without learning it. I see people driving cars all the time and I also come across bike riders every day. But still, that doesn't qualify me to carry one and jump on the road. There should be a kind of tutor

But I didn't wait for anyone to teach me

Dad would not allow me to touch any of his cars no matter how much I persuade him to teach me. Most of my friends were already driving, but he won't agree to teach me, so I let him be

When I entered a higher institution, I spent most of the time with my uncle who has two cars and a bike. Funny enough, he does not know how to drive šŸ˜‚. He only Cruz his bike around town. If permitted, he can ride bike from Nigeria to India. That tells you how much of expertise he is

He parked the bike outside one day and I climbed it and dragged myself around supporting with my legs in order not to fall. One spirit then told me to start the bike and move. Of course, I do see the way people do it, but since I've never done it before, I was afraid, and also wasn't sure if I could handle the bike in motion

Two spirits started fighting taekwondo in my head. You can do it. Just start and move. The other spirit that seems to be good instructed me not to risk my life. But one was more powerful than the other

The stubborn spirit wouldn't let me rest until I started the bike. I drew the clutch on the left and match the gear then carefully released the clutch as I moved gently. The bike jumped forward and went off. The doom spirit hailed me. You are getting it my niggal. That's it. Keep trying. I'm with you. I never knew what was waiting for me

I tried it several times and I was able to move. I was surprised at how I balanced on the bike. I moved through the strait road and enjoyed the ride. The spirit that set me in motion kept talking in my head and I was enjoying the conversation

The spirit: Now you are enjoying the ride. You nearly disagree with me when I was convincing you

Everything was going on inside

But I didn't remember that riding is more than going straight, and there is time to change the gear. I was just moving with gear one and the bike was shouting woooooooooo!!! like my (I pass my neighbours generator)

Passersby were looking at me but I didn't give a damn because I was enjoying my ride. When I looked up front, I saw a big culvert with a small plank laid across it for passage. Then I forgot where to match the brake šŸ˜‚

I became confused. No more words from the inner spirit. Only the good one came to my rescue. I was already close to the canal and I heard jump

I left the bike and jumped off. I should stay alive than crash with the bike

I didn't sustain any injury but If the bike were to be a human, it would take the likes of Ben Carson to revive him. The headlamp and all the side lights scattered and almost all the fuel wasted

then I heard the voice that left me. "I'm still with you". The doom spirit was back. Carry the bike and start it again.

Instead of me to rebuke, I thought within myself. " Thomas Eddison failed thousands of times before he was able to come up with electricity using an alkaline battery. I just failed once. I need to keep trying"

I ignited and kicked the bike not knowing that clutch has started malfunctioning due to the accident. As I climbed and pressed the gear after holding the clutch, the bike jumped

I nearly went north and the bike to the east. Now it was me and myself alone. I started pushing the scattered bike home. No more motivational quotes. I've had enough for the day

When I got home, my uncle looked at me as I was entering the gate and said

"He who starts hasn't worked. Only who finishes would be praised"

I knew he was mocking me. Of course, he was happy I didn't injure myself as such, he was glad I learnt my lesson. His own story when he learnt driving was the funniest. He wished I wasn't there when he fucked up

šŸ˜‚.
