Cada cultura y época desarrollan diversos códigos de cortesía que permiten que la vida en comunidad se lleve a cabo de forma más pacífica y cordial. En mi país, Venezuela, la mayoría de las normas son casi universales, aquí te comparto algunas de ellas:
✔ Ceder el asiento a: personas de la tercera edad, mujeres embarazadas o que cargan a un niño en sus brazos y a personas con algún tipo de discapacidad.
✔ Saludar apenas se llega a un lugar, bien sea dando los buenos días, buenas tardes o buenas noches.
Each culture and era develops different courtesy codes that allow community life to be carried out in a more peaceful and cordial way. In my country, Venezuela, most of the rules are almost universal, here I share with you some of them:
✔ Yielding the seat to: senior citizens, pregnant women or women carrying a child in their arms and people with some kind of disability.
✔ Greet as soon as you arrive at a place, either by saying good morning, good afternoon or good evening.

✔ Turn off the phone in places where it is a nuisance to ring, for example: movie theaters, plays.
✔ Open or hold the door for another person in case he/she is already nearby or is simply carrying bags or packages in his/her arms with which it is impossible to open a door.
✔ Say thank you when the situation warrants it, for example: if they gave you the right of way or held the door for you.
✔ Comer despacio, con la boca cerrada y no hablar con la comida en la boca.
✔ En la entrada de un determinado lugar se tiene por costumbre dejar salir a las personas antes de entrar a al sitio, pues tiene preferencia siempre la persona que sale respecto del que entra, salvo que se ceda la entrada a una persona mayor, por ejemplo.
✔ Se utiliza un tono adecuado en las conversaciones, sin levantar la voz o gritar.
✔ Eat slowly, with your mouth closed, and do not talk with food in your mouth.
✔ At the entrance of a certain place, it is customary to let people leave before entering the place, since the person who leaves always has preference over the person who enters, unless the entrance is given to an elderly person, for example.
✔ An appropriate tone is used in conversations, without raising the voice or shouting.
