The entire huge exposition of the Central Maritime Museum could be divided into several large parts. First of all, these are different–sized models of ships, submarines and all kinds of swimming facilities. Some of them are made in scale models, and some are schematically or in a section.
ONLINE REFERENCE: The Central Naval Museum named after Emperor Peter the Great is one of the oldest museums in Russia and one of the largest maritime museums in the world. Back at the end of the XIX century. The Maritime Museum has become a significant Russian cultural and scientific center.
For three centuries of its existence, the museum has collected a huge number of valuable museum items reflecting the most important events in the history of the fleet. There are more than 700,000 of them in the museum's funds. Including more than 13,000 items of ship equipment, more than 11,000 pieces of cold steel and firearms, more than 62,000 works of fine art, more than 56,000 items of clothing, awards and badges, flags and banners, more than 44,000 documents and manuscripts, about 300,000 photographs and negatives, hundreds of thousands of sheets of drawings.
The museum has one of the richest collections of ship models in the world (about 2000 units). The model collection clearly reflects the history of Russian and foreign military shipbuilding.
Another big section is weapons and all kinds of ship equipment. This includes cannons, personal weapons of sailors and captains, as well as the equipment of ships and even the device of periscopes of submarines.
In a separate section, I would highlight various maps of sea trips and voyages. If there were maps of the search for sea treasures, I'm sure they would also be here, but I'm not sure about that.
The museum also has a huge number of flags and sea trophies. And another large section is paintings, engravings and watercolors. There are a lot of them right here. You can spend more than one hour looking at them.
If I had been alone on that trip to St. Petersburg – without my daughter and sister – I would, of course, have dwelt in great detail on the exposition of this museum. I was interested in literally everything there. Most likely, I would return here within a few days to examine each exhibit in the children.
It is worth, incorrectly, to single out various navigation and other marine instruments in a separate category of exhibits. There are a lot of them here and I could hardly determine the purpose of each of them, without reading the accompanying inscriptions that are here under each exhibit.
So far I have shown only a small block of photographs, where the items from the first part of the exposition are presented. Then there will be more and, of course, more interesting. There will be several more publications from that tour of the Central Maritime Museum ahead. And that's it for today!
Всю огромную экспозицию Центрального морского музея можно было бы условно разделить на несколько больших частей. Прежде всего – это разноразмерные модели кораблей, подводных лодок и всевозможных плавательных средств. Часть из них выполнены в масштабных моделях, а часть – схематично или в разрезе.
СПРАВКА ИЗ СЕТИ: Центральный военно-морской музей имени императора Петра Великого — один из старейших музеев России и один из крупнейших морских музеев мира. Ещё в конце XIX в. Морской музей стал значительным российским культурным и научным центром.
За три века своего существования музей собрал огромное количество ценнейших музейных предметов, отражающих важнейшие события истории флота. В фондах музея их хранится более 700 000. В том числе свыше 13 000 предметов корабельной техники, более 11 000 единиц холодного и огнестрельного оружия, свыше 62 000 произведений изобразительного искусства, более 56 000 предметов формы одежды, наград и знаков, флагов и знамен, свыше 44 000 документов и рукописей, около 300 000 фотографий и негативов, сотни тысяч листов чертежей.
Музей обладает одним из богатейших в мире собраний моделей кораблей (около 2000 единиц). В модельной коллекции наглядно отражена история российского и зарубежного военного кораблестроения.
Другой большой раздел – это оружие и всякое корабельное снаряжение. Сюда входят пушки, личное оружие моряков и капитанов, также оснастка судов и даже устройство перископов подводных лодок.
В отдельный раздел я выделил бы различные карты морских походов и путешествий. Если бы имелись карты поисков морских сокровищ, я уверен, они тоже были бы здесь, но я не уверен на этот счёт.
Также в музее представлено огромное количество флагов и морских трофеев. И ещё один большой раздел – это картины, гравюры и акварели. Здесь прям очень и очень много. Можно потратить не один час, разглядывая их.
Если бы я был один в той поездке в Петербург – без дочки и сестры – я бы, конечно, очень подробно остановился на экспозиции этого музея. Мне было интересно там буквально всё. Скорей всего я бы возвращался сюда в течение нескольких дней, чтобы рассмотреть каждый экспонат в детялях.
Стоит, неверное, выделить в отдельную категорию экспонятов различные навигационные и другие морские приборы. Здесь их очень много и я с трудом мог бы определить назначение каждого из них, без чтения сопроводительных надписей, которые здесь имеются под каждым экспонатом.
Я пока показал только небольшой блок фотоснимков, где представлены предметы из первой части экспозиции. Дальше будет больше и, конечно же, интереснее. Впереди будет ещё несколько публикаций из той экскурсии по Центральному Морскому музею. А на сегодня у меня всё!
