“Live in the sunshine, swim the sea, drink the wild air.”
R.W. Emerson (from "Merlin's song")

Intro

I wanted to start this post with one of my favorite photos I took in Valledoria: an unforgettable walk in the unspoiled nature that opens a series of posts that I will publish about my last trip to Sardinia.
Valledoria was the first place i visited, and it made me immediately fall in love with this island: the sun, the water, the air and with all the elements that surrounded me in those 10 days; nothing better than R.W. Emerson quote can describe all that I've experienced here.

well....now let's take a step backwards 😆

The journey

2:00 am: Like any respectable vacation, there is a long trip to plan.... So many things to bring (especially when you're traveling with your girlfriend 🤣) ...my T-Roc was overloaded.

A really long journey: by car to Livorno, a ferry crossing to the port of Golfo Aranci and then again by car to Valledoria... you'll see that it was worth it!

Editor's note: All of the photographs you saw in this post were taken by me, and are #exclusive_content posted on #Hive social.

The long wait before leaving...I recommend never arriving too early when you need to board a ferry.

Finally, the journey begins! Let's leave the mainland and get comfortable to look at the sea.
It is always beautiful to look at the water of the sea, each ripple is different from the other, each wave hides within itself the secrets of the physical laws that govern the world ... it's all there ... and yet it is something so obvious that we do not even think about it.

We arrive in Valledoria

Some time later, we arrived in our town: Valledoria.
It is a small town, not one of the most touristic in Sardinia, but certainly one of the most interesting from a naturalistic point of view.
The municipality of Valledoria is in the province of Sassari and is situated on the north coast of Sardinia.
In Valledoria I saw a unique landscape, that I could not associate to any other place i have visited so far.
Despite the tiredness of the trip we immediately went to see the beautiful beach and a unique sunset; below are some photos I took that will make you realize the beauty of this place.

A little beach and a bar inside the nature.

A little lake in the middle of the sand, like a natural pool, it was very characteristic, the water of this little water pool was calm, unlike the turbulent water of the open sea.

now let's go in the water, from here the view is amazing, the sky merges with the water, the clouds and the waves call up the storm.

Editor's note: I love the #Photography i love to take a lot of #Photos, hope you are enjoying these #shots.

Now let's go back to the mainland one more time and climb that sand mountain you see in the distance in my photo.
It is a mound of natural sand in which there are many rare plant species for this land, it is necessary to pay the utmost attention in the path not to ruin the plants and shrubs present and also not to hurt your feet since these plants have many thorns.

Editor's note: This shot above is my favorite, here you can see everything, the soul of this paradise, plants, nature, sky, mountains... and the falling sun... Let's go to see it better <3

The perfect sunset

One of the most beautiful sunsets I've seen in my life, I remember following the sun as it disappeared behind the #horizon.
When you watch the sunset you see a day go away and give way to night, it is a moment of ultimate peace, in which our soul is healed of any wounds it may have suffered during the day; away from chaos, away from conflict.... The sunset has something unique, and being able to admire it in a place like Valledoria is one of the most beautiful things that life has in reserve for us.

And when the sun can no longer be seen its rays remain to tell us of its beauty, in this photo I tried to capture the red rays of the sun alternating with the blue of the sky in a breathtaking show.

Now, with the last warm lights of the sunset, we take a walk along the coast in which there are some very nice buildings and wooden walkways that integrate very well with nature.
I have to say that even from an architectural point of view the municipality of Valledoria has done some very beautiful works.

Conclusion

The trip was certainly hard, the day started very early ... but in the end it reserved something unique, it was worth a hundred of these trips to admire the beauty of this place.
Now all that remains is to return home, have dinner and rest... But surely a piece of my heart will remain here, in this nature to admire these beautiful sunsets, every day.

And you? Did you know Valledoria? Have you ever been to places that have touched you so much?
