Hoi An Old Town

Hello everyone, I am Khanh and I'm going to write about Hoi An today. The city that I was born in Danang which is along the central coast of Vietnam and 35 kilometers from Hoi An ancient town. I often travel to the old town for weekend chilling and wedding photos since it's situated not far from my house. The word Hoi An conjures up a picture of ancient houses with a rich history dating back to hundreds of years ago.

Hoi An was once a busy trading port and its ancient architecture were recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Furthermore, Hoi An is also a seaport that attracts many tourists because of Cham island, An Bang beach, and 7 Mẫu coconut forest.

You know, the first place I ever traveled and the first place in my life was the old town. I am most fascinated by the old houses, the food, and the street vendors selling conical hats, and I was really glad there were very few tourists at that time, not too crowded as it was later, and most of them were foreign tourists. In recent years, many people from different places have been traveling to Hoi An and it has become one of the most popular destination in my country.

As a child, Cao Lau and corn dessert were my first meals in Hoi An and are still my favorite dishes every time I return. If you are in Hoi An, be sure to try the local food such as cao lau, banh lap, grilled meat, and chicken rice. These dishes are rustic and delicious. The welcoming and tolerant people of the central region appeal to me. The seasons in Hoi An are each beautiful in their own way. It is best to visit Hoi An early in the morning, at 6am, you will experience Hoi An's beauty. It is when the hustle and bustle of people for a business day can be observed. During the early morning, there will be the scene of the old man and the water bearer sitting in front of yellow houses. As the sun rises, the leaves will shadow the rows of confetti, creating what seems like a somewhat poetic scene in an ancient city.

This small city is filled with narrow, winding streets and colorful lanterns that cast an aura of tranquility and serenity around the area.

One of the major attractions in this city is the Thu Bon River, which offers a perfect place for an early morning run.

Old Town is vibrant at night as well, when the street lights up with lanterns, the night streets are crowded with tourists, you can see passenger boats cruising around at night and there are cyclos that connect people. Hoi An has its own characteristics, whether it's peaceful during the day or bustling nightlife.

The streets are lined with restaurants, bars, souvenir shops, and street food vendors. You can enjoy a peaceful walk through the streets while taking in the sights and sounds of the city.

Hoi An has many ancient pagodas and assembly halls, lovely alleyways and old-fashioned coffee shops. On a rainy day, watching people passing by on the streets while drinking coffee in the old town is my favourite thing to do.

Hoi An is also a great place to ride bicycles, with the scenic landscape along the roads. Taking a bike tour around town is the wonderful way to see all of the sights around the town

Around the outskirts of the old town, there are various places such as the cinnamon tea vegetable village, the Thanh Ha pottery village, and the silk village. My upcoming posts will address these places, so please feel free to check them out. It is my dream to own a house on the outskirts of the old town, where I would be able to go to the old town every morning and take pictures of landscapes and everyday life.

Whenever you come to Hoi An, I hope that you can walk around in the old town once at sunrise and feel the peace and Hoi An's vibes, and I am happy to be your guide. A visit to Hoi An is an experience you won't want to miss. It is my intention to bring people together and introduce the beautiful images of this old to as many friends as possible.

Thank you for reading my post and have a nice Sunday.
