At Bessemer Bend, if you take an unlikely-looking turn, you will eventually wind around to a fish hatchery. This July day, when we visited, it was quite warm and the hatchery was pretty much devoid of fish. I need to work out when the hatchery is teeming with fish - and then I'll go again.
Enjoy some of the beauty that is Wyoming.
These are facing SE towards the highway. Looking at the map, it looks like this might be Coal Mountain that we're looking at. The silvery-blue trees are Russian Olives which are an invasive species here (and my hubby is allergic to the pollen.)
I love contrast in a photo - and find the sleek line of a fence post combined with the rough line of barbed wire is a perfect contrast to the rugged landscape it is found in.
Blue damselflies in the height of breeding season. I was not able (this time) to catch any images clearly, but they are very pretty.
Damselflies are very similar to dragonflies, but they have stark differences including:
- slender bodies (dragonflies have fatter bodies)
- hold their wings together when at rest (dragonflies hold their wings out when at rest)
