Morad Park Wander - Wondrous Wyoming

I discovered an amazing online trails resource recently, called AllTrails. Here you can find information, maps and directions to many trails all around the world. I plan to use this to take future walks around the area and maybe further afield.

One of our city trails is this Morad Park Loop, which is an easy 0.7 mile loop along the North Platte River - and comprises a short part of the 9.5 mile Platte River Trail. My elder daughter and I walked this one nice day in June.

We walked along the river first. It was interesting to note the life jacket station next to the river. The North Platte is a very fast river, and very dangerous, so life jackets really are required to play in it safely.

Many boaters like to use this river, including these two kayakers.

Lots of different plants grow here, including this succulent - maybe a purslane relative (which beetles and bees seemed to love) and the subsequent Showy Milkweed - which should make the butterflies happy!

I love it when downed logs look like they are some sort of monster! Fire coming out of that critter's mouth any moment!

Thanks for coming with us!
