"Kudykina Gora" - a natural park in the Lipetsk region in Russia

Hello friends!

At the end of July, I had a mini vacation in order to go to the village for a few days. My grandmother and grandfather once lived in the village and my mother was born. The village is located in the Lipetsk region (Russia) and I will make a separate post about it. In the meantime, I will show you the natural park, which we visited along the way and which is also located in the Lipetsk region.

The park is called "Kudykina Gora". For a Russian-speaking person, this name is familiar from childhood from the saying - Where to? - To Kudykina Mountain, steal tomatoes ...
I decided to see what this expression really means. And here's what Wikipedia says:

Kudykina Gora - phraseological turns of the Russian language. They come from the Russian word kudyka (education from the adverb where) - a person who asks a hunter where he is going. According to popular belief, it is strictly forbidden to do this, therefore, in response to this person, hunters usually say: to the Kudykin mountain, to the Kudykino field, to the Kudykin island. There is a sign that if a person is asked where he is going, then he will not be lucky on the way.

First of all, this park is famous for the grandiose figure of the Serpent Gorynych - the main and, perhaps, the most powerful villain of Russian folk tales. The visitors are most interested in it. Moreover, on weekends at a certain time, he spews out flame and roar. It's a shame that this is done so rarely. We certainly got there at an inopportune time.

So, here is a map of the park. It is huge and can only be bypassed in a day.

And in front is also one of the main structures of the park - the City of Masters. Inside, the entrance is paid, and inside there is a quest based on a Russian folk tale. There are many huts with the appropriate entourage, paths, a forest, Baba Yaga's house. And at the end of the quest there is a scene of the battle with the Serpent Gorynych.

While we go up the path to the City of Masters, once again on the left we admire the Serpent Gorynych.

Entrance to the City of Masters. Russian folk music is playing, which adjusts to the mood of a Russian fairy tale. We did not go directly inside, but decided to go around the surroundings.

View from the City of Masters to the left.

And this is a view to the right of the Serpent Gorynych.

IMG_0893.jpg

And this is the view back from where we came from. There is an entrance and information center, a family restaurant, toilets, a gift shop. Everything is done at the highest level. You can't say that there are villages around this park.

IMG_0896.jpg

Let's go around the park along the paths. And of course immediately to the Serpent Gorynych. In the photo, my little nephew, who thoroughly walked around the sculpture and found a door with a crack, where he saw the mechanisms :)

The beauty of the park is that you can explore it not only on foot, but also rent bicycles. We go down from the Serpent Gorynych to the farm where the animals are kept.

IMG_0918.jpg

There are many thoroughbred horses on the farm. Each breed is written separately. There are separate horses that you can ride.

IMG_0928.jpg

Several llamas, donkeys and camels live on the farm. You can also ride a camel.

IMG_0935.jpg

A separate entertainment is horseback riding in a van.

IMG_0938.jpg

Nearby is the Kamenka River, which flows into the Don. The park is located at the confluence of these two rivers, so you can visit the banks of the Kamenka and the banks of the Don.

IMG_0945.jpg

Many swans live here. White pairs of swans proudly swim along the river.

IMG_0962.jpg

But there is only one black pair of swans.

IMG_0993.jpg

Sheep painted red. I don't even know why they are painted. But I hope it doesn't hurt them.

IMG_1008.jpg

Perhaps red lambs overlap with the works of artists. For example, against the background of the story about Gauguin's picture, the lamb does not look like something foreign to nature.

Smaller animals still live on the farm - raccoons, kangaroos, turtle, ducks.

IMG_1011.jpg

After the farm we climb the Brotherhood Mountain. This art object embodies 7 angels holding hands, and there is a place where you can stand 8 (angel), take their hands and make a wish.

IMG_1051.jpg

The Brotherhood Mountain overlooks the Don River. In this form, all the beauty of the nature of central Russia, its central part. Ravines, small hills, sparse forests - all species, native from childhood.

IMG_1038.jpg

We descend from the mountain and approach the City of Masters from the other side. We also meet an art object from Russian fairy tales - a table table. You can climb in and take a funny photo.

IMG_1081.jpg

Then we go to the spring. It is designed in the form of a jug from which the purest water is poured.

IMG_1131.jpg

The heat was terrible. We washed ourselves with water from the spring.

IMG_1136.jpg

We made a small circle in the natural park. We could still go down to the Don, inspect the beach, and probably we did not see everything. But it was time to leave and we went back.

And at the end of the day we saw a cloud in the form of the Serpent Gorynych flying about on its business. Can you see the outline? The tip is the following photo.

And finally, once again the main exhibit of the park. From a different angle, but also beautiful. During our walk we heard him growl. Apparently they decided to include it for some purpose.

I hope you enjoyed the story about this park. And there was a desire to visit there.

Cheers

Veta
