Brisbane River cocktail pub crawl

What better way to discover some new bars and sights of Brisbane city, then floating along the brown snake aka the Brisbane River, on a boat pub crawl.

It has been a pretty crazy past couple of weeks and I finally had some free time to have a little belated birthday celebration. So I rounded up the gang and booked a Brisbane River pub crawl.

We boarded onto the boat at the Botanical gardens in the city.
The boat sits 25 people and it was our group and four other ladies onboard. This specific tour was a cocktail tour. So it's bloody marys for me today! They are not everyones cup of tea but definitely my favourite cocktail.

We all loaded onto the boat then it was time to rip it up the river.

There is two complimentary drinks on board which were cocktails in a can.... There was a couple of cocktail options but Hmmm none of them were very good at all.

But luckily our first stop is a gin distillary called Brisbane distillary company. Pretty creative name that one haha.

They have an amazing list of cocktails made out of gin and ruhm. Cocktails here are $18.50 and basic gin mixer are $5.50 each. But I'm not much of a gin fan.
I went for the fire on all cylinders ( their version of a blood mary) and it was bloody good👍

It was so awesome to catch up with everyone and to finally socialise again. Telling stories and having a laugh with this bunch is always a great time.

After about an hour here we took a quick group shot then it was back onto the boat for the next stop.

Once on the boat the skipper showed us the power of the 900 horse power engine and opened it right up which was alot of fun!

We passed back through south bank and the city and under the story bridge to make our way to our next bar.

Mary Mae's at the Power house.

This is an amazing bar and highly recommend checking it out if you are ever in Brisbane. It's right next to new farm park which is beautiful and is directly on the river.
This old building used to be a power house so hence the name.

When you book with the company on this pub crawl the website states that you get drink discounts, reserved tables at each bar and also will be able to purchase drinks on board.

But no luck with drink purchases onboard at all.

At this venue we had tables reserved but no discounts. None the less, another blood Mary was ordered and some delicious pork tacos and a cheese burger. The food and drinks here are great!.

They had a DJ playing which set the vibe for a nice Sunday session.

After an hour or so we rounded up the gang for another group photo. Then loaded back onto the boat for our final stop tuscano's.

Heading back down the brown snake through the city to where we boarded the boat.

The tour guide said his good byes and thanks yous as we left the boat.....
But we still had one last bar to go to. This is where everything went to shit for them haha.

We arrived at the venue and they had no idea we were coming and had no room at all for us there.

So pretty bad organisation skills on behalf of the company.

The guide apologised and we were on our way.
I hadn't been in the city for years and remembered this Hallway with a little byo restaurant at the front and at the end of the hallway is a bottle shop. What a combo!

So we headed there with the quickness to get another drink. On arrival the little restaurant was closed but the chairs were all still out so we grabbed some drinks and finally had some beers.

Now we call this place the whoreway as this little restaurant is bellow a overseas student uni and hookers come here to meet their student clients
Hence the whoreway.

After alot of laughs it was time to get some dinner and what better place then ramen!!
Oh soo delicious 😊

So final thoughts about the river pub crawl.
Cons
The two complementary drinks on board where not very nice.
No purchasing of drinks onboard.
No discount on drinks at the bars.
Only went to two bars.

Pros
Could have two drinks onboard a boat with your mates.
Cruising down the Brisbane River is amazing!
Discovering two new bars I wouldn't have normally gone to.

Final evaluation.
It was so good to catch up with the crew!
Save some money and get a six pack on the city cat.

Happy travels
