Hi Everyone,
Dousuru Ieyasu (どうする家康) is a new series that came out on the NHK network. Staring Jun Matsumoto in the band Arashi is the main lead for this series. The series is going through an extensive campaign with Jun appearing on various shows to let his fans know of his new work. NHK has especially set up an exhibition for fans to attend at Shibuya Scrambling Square so I decided to check it out. I am not a huge fan of Arashi but I like watching Jun from previous Japanese series so since I am in Japan, I want to give my little support.
The exhibition is free of charge and fans can take photos of everything except for any autographs and the videos playing on the screen. They showed the costume worn in the show and there were large life-size cutouts of some characters so fans could take photos with them. There were also props from the series like the little rock which was a hit at the exhibition.
Some scenes in the series were actually filmed using models in the background so the staff showed us how it's done and how realistic it can be if the models are done correctly. They are mainly for scenes when fights happen on a large field and it was pretty interesting to see how the filming is done right there and being explained to us.
Fans were also given an opportunity to write a message to Jun and the rest of the cast to give their support. Unfortunately, the line was too long so I didn't leave a message for them but it was nice to see so much effort has been put into these messages by fans. I've seen advertisements for this series and it does look pretty interesting I will sure try to watch it when I have a chance. Lastly, we were given a postcard of Jun looking very handsome in his costume. The event finishes in a few days so be sure to drop by if you are in Tokyo.
