Hi Everyone,
Having an extended stay in Osaka was super fun this time around with the kids. We didn't move around like last year and we just stayed in one place, explored the city and lived like the locals. One of the activities that I haven't shared before was taking the kids to ice skating in the middle of the city at Tennoji Sports Center. It was an experience for sure, the skate rink was there temporarily during the winter periods right in the middle of the park.
We had a period between afternoon tea and dinner trying to find something to do so we thought to give the kids a go to get some energy out. In the middle of winter, outdoors, I was not very keen but the boys wanted to give it a go especially since they were pretty confident on there already. They did it in Bangkok and also in Japan last year so have been longing to go again. I was too cold so I went inside to the shops after they were in the rink for a while, meanwhile, hubby was there looking after them.
The hire of 1500 yen included all protective gear and the little pushing cart was another 500 yen for 30 minutes. It was good to hire the little push cart as they got tired and one could sit there while the other kid pushed. Personally, I never liked ice skating, I prefer snowboarding instead.
The kids had a ball. Who would have thought you could find an ice skating ring outdoors right in the middle of a park in Osaka. No need to say, after their time outdoors, all of them were freezing and we went to get a nice hot dinner to warm everyone up. Such a great activity to get the energy out of the kids
