My 2-day Visit in Manila

During my visit to Cebu, Philippines, in 2019, I stopped over in Manila and had a great two-day vacation exploring around the capital. There is so much to see and do in this hot and humid city, I spend my first-day checking around Intramuros- one of the oldest places and famous landmarks in Manila. I was told that the area was established 400 years ago to defend the city from invaders and was built by Spanish colonists. Intramuros is home to many historic Catholic churches and palaces that are still standing today. The local tour guide took us around and stopped by at many places. I couldn't remember all that he told me about the history and places but I really enjoy the ride.

Manila is a bustling, densely populated city in the Philippines. I guess the high population density makes it easier for people to get around because there are so many public transportation options. Also, there are plenty of opportunities to buy affordable food from street vendors all over the city.

Manila has various forms of public transport including buses, jeepneys, taxis, trains, and tricycles. The Philippines are known for their jeepneys, which are glorified open-air buses. Some of these jeepneys have evolved into tricycles, which are three-wheeled vehicles that carry passengers on the back of the vehicle. These vehicles are decorated with vibrant colors, flowers, and lights. They are not only a cheap way to get around Manila but also provide an interesting insight into the city's culture. A typical day in Manila is often filled with traffic jams and long lines at garages or gas stations, but I really like the features

On the second day, my friends and I decided to get a taxi to Venice Grand Canal Mall, one of the most famous tourist attractions in Manila, which is located in Taguig. The Venice Grand Canal Mall is a luxurious, world-class destination that features an indoor canal lined with stores. The mall's design draws from the city of Venice, Italy, and includes recreations of the Piazza San Marco and the Bridge of Sighs.

Italy in the Philippines?

This grocery and retail shopping center provides a variety of stores, entertainment, fitness centers, and a wide array of food choices for shoppers to enjoy and will satisfy any taste buds. You can also find stores like H&M, Adidas, Nike, and more. Mall-goers can also enjoy a full day of fun just by exploring the mall. In addition to outdoor benches and tables for people who need to take a break from shopping. It is an all-in-one place for everyone to relax and enjoy.

If you're visiting Manila, don't miss a trip to the Venice Grand Canal Mall. This chic, architectural marvel fills a world-class shopping destination needs with its stores and restaurants, as well as a movie theater and other entertainment.

After spending the morning exploring the Mall, we then head to the airport for our flight to Cebu. The trip to Manila was short but it left a lasting impression. It is a beautiful and vibrant city with wonderful destinations and welcoming people. It's definitely worth a trip and I'd love to explore more next time. 😍
