Walking the Coastline of the Andaman Sea.

I was sitting around with my nature friends the other day discussing how beautiful and amazing the coastline of the Andaman Sea in Phuket Island, is and we were talking about how many beaches and viewpoints we have hiked together in Phuket Island, but I have only seen a fraction compared to what my two favorite hiking girls have done and seen and that's not only in Phuket Island, they not only know every hiking trail on Phuket Island but also in many other parts of Thailand, they certainly would make a couple of fantastic tourist guides.

Phuket is the biggest island in Thailand, a island that you will never run out hiking trails whether it's hiking into the mountainous rain forest or along the Andaman Sea coastline were you will see some of Thailand’s most popular beaches, and you say no not more beaches but in reality every beach has it's own beauty, charm, rock formations, and the sands are even different from beach to beach.

Last night over a couple of beers and dinner another weekend coming up been my last weekend before heading back to work next week we were discussing where our next next hiking venture was going to take place as the evening was coming to a end we had decided to start our hike from a beach called Kata Noi, was going to be about 8 kilometer hike mainly climbing over rocks along the Andaman Sea coastline that would land us at Tri-Trang beach and then over to Nai Harn beach along this hike we would be seeing different rock formations from round boulders to flat slate rocks. So we took a Tuk-Tuk to Kata Noi beach where we were going to start our hike it cost us $10 US (300 Baht) from Patong beach.

Doing these sort of hikes along a coastline climbing up rocks and cliff sides can be quite exhausting you need to be fit to a certain level but these two girls seem to have no problems with that it's like a walk in the park for them, where as for me I was trying to keep my mind of my calf muscles pumping in pain by enjoying the refreshing surrounding views. We had already done about 4 km of walking and climbing several rocks at this point passing some astonishing beach front resorts built into the mountain sides.

At our half way point we were just around the corner from Tri-Trang Beach which is a long stretch of white powdery fine sand between Kata Noi Beach and Nai Harn Beach, approaching Tri-Trang, it reminded me a bit of Fraser Island Beach in my home country of Australia, looking at that pure white sand and the calm waters was such a peaceful feeling like been on our own private island.

I couldn't believe what I was seeing here this beautiful white sandy beach on a clear blue sky day and there was no one here to enjoy this stunning beach the girls said well there are no tourist around still because of the pandemic and the locals come out later in the afternoon when the sun is a little cooler. I just stood on this beach taking in the breathtaking views in thinking to myself how lucky am I to be here alive and practically having all this to myself Tri-Trang beach truly beautiful.

So far from Kata Noi beach to Tri-Trang beach the 4 km hike had already been mind blowing in what I had seen it was so amazing that I had even forgotten about my calf muscle pains the girls said that the next 4 km of this hike was going to be a little easier because the rock formation was going to change to a more flat slate rock easier to climb well that was good news but I honestly didn't mind I was really enjoying every minute of this hike been around water always makes me feel so much more relaxed despite what ever situations, I run up against. Leaving beautiful Tri-Trang beach behind we moved on over the hill towards Nai Harn beach about another 4 km hike away.

Getting over the hill into our 2nd leg of our journey heading towards Nai Harn beach along this spectacular coastline of the Andaman Sea all we could see was lush green landscape ahead of us lined with coconut trees on the hill sides, looked stunning and very tropical looking we just had to pause for a bit lay-back and enjoy this beautiful new change of scenery. The girls made themselves comfortable while I did a bit of modeling photo shoot they are the best.

There were no trails to follow along this coastline you could see this was untouched grounds you just made your own way through the best way you could which actually made it more exciting and fun but as the girls said this last leg of the journey was going to be easier and I was really enjoying the natural beauty of nature around me and the sounds of the crashing waves on the rocks.

We were getting closer to the finish line as a spectacular sunset was starting to set in over the Andaman Sea and what better place could you to be seeing this amazing sunset forming over the ocean the colors and the clouds were in perfect balance with each other.

It had taken us about 6 hours to complete this hike along the Andaman Sea coastline indeed it was long but it was just not one of them sub-normal hikes it was climbing over boulders and rocks but it was certainly one of the best hikes I have done in regards to seeing the landscape change from one extreme to another it's what made this hike so interesting and coming to the end of it at Nai Harn beach the late evening sunset got even better.

We had made the 8km journey safely apart from a few sore bones, we were in need of some good Thai food we had certainly worked up a appetite, so we got the first Tuk-Tuk out of Nai Harn beach back into Patong Town costing us $10 US (300 Bath) for the ride and had the best feed then a nice leg massage after dinner that cost us $8 US (250 Baht) each and it was another great day in the land of smiles Thailand.
