Lord Howe Island is approximately 700km off the east coast of Australia, best way getting there from Sydney, is by plane, been an 2 hour flight, as we were approaching Lord Howe Island it was like coming into James Bond Island, breathtaking views you could see the beauty of this tropical island from above, they call this island, Australia’s last great paradise and you can easily see why as we get further down this post.

After that short flight we had landed, it was still morning the sky was clear blue the sun was hot shinning down on us but the sea breeze was keeping us cool, we were eager to start exploring right after checking into our lodge.
The Ocean View Resort staff was at the airport to greet us and drive us back to the resort only 15 minute back to this stunning resort hidden in amongst all this lush green jungle, you could smell the Pine tree aroma in the clear fresh air. Once unpacked and settled, the resort provided an buffet lunch for everyone before we headed out to explore this amazing island that we had just landed on. I was actually thinking I hadn't woken up for my dream yet.
After our delicious lunch and snacks we were powered up to get ourselves lost in this paradise, an few things you need to know about coming to this island, there is no mobile phone service and that didn't worry us, as there was to much to do and see, the other thing was, which I found outstanding, no cars meaning no traffic lights on the island, which meant you need to have some skill of riding a bicycle cause it's all they have on this island, the island is not that big so it was quite logical and great for the environmental system, keeping the island pollution free.

Oh and the speed limit on the island is 25 km/hour. With only one police office on duty meaning no nasty traffic fines. Perfect place to live just riding a bicycle or walking everywhere, you would definitely be a fit person living here.

This island is not just an island were you can come to enjoy the amazing beauty of nature, there are many species of birds, plants and marine life to be seen, some of these birds and plants are not seen in other parts of the world.

The crystal clear waters are also very inviting they are perfect for swimming, diving, surfing, kayaking and snorkeling. The marine life here is like none ever seen before the blue fish which comes up to you and feeds out of your hand, amazing turtles and some of the most beautiful colors of rare coral.
