Hi there, have you all missed me, I hadn't realized, I have been away from Hive for six days, well let me tell you why, my friends have been talking about this Jurassic Park for months, myself I didn't believe a Jurassic Park existed in Thailand but then you never under estimate anything in Amazing Thailand, it's always full of surprises, so anyways we were all finally able to co-ordinate and have a few days of from our daily work routines and decided to make our way to Jurassic Park to see what all the fuss was about.
Jurassic Mountain Resort & Fishing Park from our destination Pattaya to Phetchaburi, Cha-Am, were Jurassic Park is located was going to be just over a 3 hour drive covering just over 300km, pretty much highway road most of the way, it was a beautiful day for a drive, roads were quiet, got a little bit of rain on the way but that didn't worry us it was soon gone and by the time were made one stop to fuel up we were there.
On arrival we were welcomed by very polite resort staff members who took us to reception, sat us down offered us a cool drink and had us all checked in very efficiently into our lovely air-condition villas.
The grounds of the resort were very nicely manicured, lush green gardens a beautiful clean pool and a small lake all within the center of the resort grounds with all the villas all having these stunning views of the gardens as you were relaxing on your veranda.
It was Sunday so a nice roast lamb dinner was on the order list the top quality Anglers Restaurant not only serves the best, English lamb roast but they also serve, Thai and International cuisine as well as beers and fine wines. I must say it was one of the best lamb roast dinners since, I left Australia 3 years ago and was enjoying it from a table with the best views of the lake.
After that superb afternoon dinner, I took a walk around the lake to see if, I could find any Dinosaurs well, I was in Jurassic Park after all and believe it or not, I actually did find one but it had been shrunken down 🤣 I also came across a family of turtles Mum, Pop and Baby and a big Carp fish jumping out of the water like a Dolphin which, I was looking forward to catching over the next couple of days.
Next morning we were all up early for a nice breakfast and coffee by the lake and eager to catch one of them giant fish out of that lake.
All energized it was time to hit the lake, around the lake you will see a number of fishing booths and each fishing booth has a name so you know which one has been allocated to you for the day there are many package deals available for fishing depending how long or how many days you like to fish of course this is all game fishing they are caught then release but into the lake the lake itself has a beautiful tropical look surrounded by mountains and I have been told some of the best fishing in Thailand can be done here in this lake.
It is known that Jurassic Park has some of the world's biggest Carp and freshwater predators ready to be caught by you the experience you will have here will blown your mind, I have only even seen these giant fish on TV fishing programs or on Google images but, I was about to see the real deal here and it wasn't long after we had set up our fishing rods on these low set steel tripods which have alarms fitted to them, they go off when a fish has been hooked at the end of that line.
The alarm when of the battle was on my friend Oliver had one hooked on his line, he had been wrestling with this giant Crap fish for 45 minutes before he could bring, it in the net his arms were burning with pain, once you have the fish in the net the hook is removed slowly from the fishes mouth and then the fishes mouth is sprayed with a antiseptic to reduce the pain and infections by a staff member who is allocated to take care of you and the fishes while on your fishing expedition.
Then comes that lift time for that special photo lifting that 150lb Crap fish you just wrestled for 45 minutes so you can frame, it and tell your grand-kids about this Crap fish.
And after the photo-shoot it's released but to the wild only to be caught again by another game fisher.
The next day we were back at it again there are many species of fishes in this lake such as Carp, Catfish, Redtail, Giant Arapaima and the Alligator Gar this would be the one, I would love to catch, I heard it has a mouth like a Alligator and teeth the same, I did see photos of this Alligator Gar in the Anglers Restaurant but didn't end up catching him maybe next time.
What I did notice at Jurassic Fishing Park they have a well stocked fishing outlet you actually do not need to bring anything your simply purchase one of there reasonable pricing well planned and organized package all of high quality tackle set provided and off you go and make the catch of the day like these other enthusiast fisherman did that, I personal saw over my 4 days at this fishing park resort.
