Freedom Beach a little Gem in Phuket Island.

I have traveled enough to see some amazing beaches but seeing Freedom Beach in Phuket, Thailand really showed the postcard beach of Thailand, I was really astounded when my eyes fell upon this beach this was the dream beach of Thailand were you are just left wondering how beautiful mother nature really can be.

When ever we travel to another country to escape our winters we always seem to end up on the most well known popular beach of that country or island as for me, I like to get away from them most touristy beaches and go hunting out the more hidden gem beaches like Freedom beach.

I found Freedom beach to be a beautiful and secluded, powdery white sand beach with the most amazing clear blue waters, very peaceful and quite well that would be because it's not possible for tourist to travel at the moment but this would be one beach you should put on your future buck-list, it's got to be the prettiest beach, I have seen in Thailand so far.

Freedom Beach has only about a 300 meter stretch of white sand but what makes this beach so pretty is the surrounding green hills and the thick jungle and the beach itself sits in a beautiful bay dotted with granite rocks and huge boulders. I remember getting of the long-tail boat, it was so picturesque seeing the backdrops of palms and thick jungle and stepping in the clear jade water with the perfect soft white sand under my feet.

Don't forget to bring your swimmers and snorkeling gear both ends of the beach, have shallow crystal clear waters and are both superb locations to be snorkeling, if you want to see all that underwater marine life. The thing, I loved about this beach there were no noisy jet-skis only the sound of the occasional long-tail boats that you could hear slightly in the distance.

At the moment because of the limited tourist in the country there are no operating shops or restaurants opened on this beach sadly the two restaurants that are on the beach have closed up the pilot of the long-tail boat had a esky of cold drinks and water to clench our thirst.

There were two ways of getting to this paradise beach first option you could negotiate with a pilot of the long-tail boat, that is what we did costing us $25 US (800 Baht) per/person a two way trip drop of in the morning and pick up late afternoon, it is only a 15 minute boat ride to Freedom beach from the southern end jetty of Patong Beach you will see a few other private resort beaches along the way which are also stunning. It is normally a higher price but because of minimal tourist there are discounts to be had.

The other option getting to Freedom beach is to take a Tuk-Tuk which will cost you about $8 US one way or Motorbike Taxi $3 US one way they will take you to the top of the mountain where from there you can walk down this long flight of steps to reach the beach going downhill wouldn't be to bad but going back uphill you would need to be pretty fit but one advantage about that you will get to see some pretty great views coming down them flight of steps, I was told it takes about a 30 minute hike down to the beach.

We did the long-tail boat ride over to Freedom beach but we did climb about 200 or more concrete steps going uphill very exhausting but worth while to see some great panoramic views of the beach from the hills. The rumors about Freedom beach been the most beautiful beach in Thailand, turned out to be true the beach is a scenic oasis was definitely worth the day out there.
