Brunswick Heads, is a small little quaint seaside town along the north coast of NSW, Australia, another one of those beautiful little towns you can fall in love with, having only a population of less then 1,800 people were everyone knows each other, like living as one big family all helping each other and taking care of each other, like a community. We happen to come across this gorgeous little town on one of our weekends away from the hustle and bustle of the big smokey city of Sydney.
Driving into Brunswick town you could see, it looked like a unspoiled coastal town the street were clean, the houses were old fashion but very well kept and their gardens were all a piece of artwork, everyone in this town had pride about themselves even though, it looked like we were entering a town that had stood still for a few centuries, it still had that beauty and charm about it.
Torakina Beach in Brunswick town and the Brunswick River are the two main nature attractions for people visiting this town you can spend your time swimming, surfing or just walking along the beach getting a suntan or you can go kayaking, fishing or just relax having a picnic lunch along the Brunswick River but it doesn't end there the parks, cafes, cute shops and the other hidden stunning beaches along the coastal line of Brunswick Heads makes this town a great place to visit for a day, weekend or longer and it is a very popular holiday destination been such a cute friendly town.
The other amazing thing we noticed on the main beach, been Torakina beach, it was very dog friendly the town people taking there dogs out for a walk on the beache and these dogs were just having a time of there lives, as if all the dogs knew each other and playing around chasing each other along the beach was so fun to see, these were some lucky fellas to have all this freedom on this huge playground.
Like most of the north coast beaches there are always these stunning seascapes and landscapes that stretch out for miles any the enjoyment to be walking or jogging along these sometimes paved or just natural walkways or pathways was just spectacular observing all the beauty and nature along the way.
Brunswick Heads Town, is not all about fishing, swimming and surfing there are many other activities going on in this small town a calendar load of fun local festivals like the Fish & Chips Festival, Carnival and Fireworks Festival and local monthly markets, the weekend we were there it happen to be the market festival day people with little stores set up selling at sorts of interesting items and clothing, great sense of humor these people had.
They also have what they call a Mullum2Bruns Paddle along the Brunswick River were more then a 1,000 people are involved and all the funds go to charities, then there is the Old And Gold Festival were you can hunt out some vintage treasures. It's a town that is full of fun all year round.
A weekend was well spend in this beautiful small little quaint seaside town on the north coast getting to Brunswick Heads is just over a 8 hour drive from Sydney, but if you like to fly it's a 1hr 45min fly into Ballina Airport and half an hour drive to Brunswick town from Ballina Airport, with accommodation there are many choices from hotels to cabins by the Torakina Beach or on the edge of the Brunswick River.
