Bang Saray had for many years been just a sleepy old fishing village where the only activity that use to go on here was seeing these small wooden fishing boats go out and come from the harbor each day to make their catch, but today because of it's location and been a colorful charming village there has been more activity happening in this village.

What has kept the wealth of this beautiful fishing village is the continuous presence of the large fishing community, that has been here since the early 1960's the smartest of the fishermen that have worked hard within there family ties are the ones that own most of the popular first class local seafood restaurants in this village.

The whole village is depended on the fishermen themselves and the life of a fishermen, may not be as easy as one would think, they live and breathe the sea everyday of there lives there life is on the waters and if they are not out there fishing they are doing maintenance to there boats, repairing there nets or getting there boats ready for the next catch they can't afford to be stranded out at sea.

Some of the fishermen's life is living on there own fishing boat,s eating with there fellow fishermen, catching up on some gossip or new strategies of fishing, they bathe and do there own laundry on there boats, some don't know any different and they become accustomed and happy in this life style.

There is never a easy day for a fishermen or the staff working around these piers night and day keeping the fishermen supplied with there everyday needs like getting there ice delivered, water, gasoline and many other necessities. Then there is getting there catches to the appropriate markets or restaurants so everyone can receive there portions of the earnings from there catches all there services and monies recycle around keeping everyone happy.

Not all the fish or squid end up, on your plate at your favorite seafood restaurant, Thai's are very fond and love there dry fish, squid, octopus and many other sea creatures they will just heat them up a bit add some chili and spieces and chew on them like bubble gum to salty for my liking's, dry seafood is one of the biggest sellers here in Thailand.

And indeed the fishermen will keep some of there pride catches to dry out and eat for themselves.

If you think a fishermen life is easy well think again it is not only a dangerous job, there are fatalities where they can fall overboard or drown in there sinking vessels. They need to be prepared in every decision they make in order to survive, they need to know what fish are the best sellers and how to keep them fresh until they are delivered to the appropriate restaurants and markets but most importantly they need to know where and how best to catch them but despite al of that, it can be a great life as a Fishermen the freedom of the ocean and seeing them amazing sunsets at sea can be priceless.
