Arriving in Munich, Germany in 2016, I found the city to be buzzing but yet so tranquil the people were pretty down to earth and were always happy to show their best side, this made me feel quite comfortable to be in Germany straight away and the other good thing was that Munich is known for it's many centuries old buildings and it was the one main thing in really wanted to come to Germany, I just love old school architectural building much prefer them to look at then, them square glass buildings, boring.
Munich is the capital of Bavaria and the third largest city in Germany, it's Germany's lifestyle capital with a population of nearly 1.5 million people it is a city with a big heart. Marienplatz Square was one of the first places we visited it's the town with all the new and old and has the oldest churches like the Church of Our Lady, Baroque and Renaissance cathedrals all dating back between the 12th and 18th centuries so all very classic, old school architect design was so beautiful see that Gothic look very impressive.
Munich is also known for it's annual Oktoberfest celebration and it's huge vibrant beer halls like the Paulaner Brewery at Westin Grand Munich and the HB Hofbräuhaus Beer Garden and more some of the best tasting beers in the world are found here in Munich City, been one of the world's great beer and brewing capitals of Europe, it's a wonder why the beer is so good.
Been in Germany is like been in Italy when it comes to food they love filling and flavorful cuisines and after walking and exploring the city streets of Munich, this is what you want at the end of the day with a tall glass of cold beer.
There was one thing that, I enjoyed mostly that was to wonder around the street markets looking and trying out some of there street foods especially all the variety of cheeses they had and the people where so friendly about it as if you were invited to there own home for lunch they would offer you whatever to try, great sales people I thought with a smile.
There fruits and vegetables were always so fresh the grapes especially is what, I would buy and munch on as, I was walking the streets of Munich.
Then there is the Isar River which flows through the city of Munich from south to north is one of the main recreational area in Munich people will gather along this river to enjoy a meal or a coffee by the river enjoying the peacefulness of the river flowing pass them great way to have a meal and a beer with your friends. I did travel to other parts of Germany but these will come up in another post. Hope you enjoyed this tour around the beautiful city of Munich.
