Visiting the China Science and Technology Museum

Greetings my Hive Friends!

Visiting new places is always amazing and healing for our busy lives. As a nature lover, I used to visit the mountains, lakes, forests, and scenic areas associated with these locations. Being a research student, it is not unusual to take the opportunity to make the stressful life to make it feel healing is far from the laboratory work. But often I try to visit some museums which are also places of knowledge and where we can learn about the history and civilization of where we live. Such a visit that I am going to take you with me to the China Science and Technology Museum located in Beijing City.

It is located almost in the city center and anyone can have a visit using their visit to the Beijing City. This museum is not about the Chinese traditional history or the development of Chinese civilization. If you prefer the historical evolution and the development in the socio-cultural lifestyle of the Chinese civilization, then it is better to visit the National Museum of China which is very close to the Forbidden Kingdom in the center of Beijing City. Also, the Science and Technology Museum’s ticket price is 30 RMB per person whereas the National Museum has no entry fee, just you need to book the ticket with your passport as there will be so many people visiting it.

At the entrance of the museum a huge demo of the Chinese Space station ‘Tiangong space station’ which is really pride for them with their power of technology. Also, there are several sections like the 4D exploration of the universe and big screen movie shows on the ocean, animal planets, and so on. I didn’t buy tickets for those as in the WeChat I couldn’t understand the details and the topics; so I didn’t buy the ticket. Besides, I didn’t have enough time to explore them as I had some other activities in the city.

The Science and Technology Museum generally offers the scientific evolution in China from the very early stage of human civilization overall. Mainly the old science of China was about astronomy, agriculture, metal processing, water energy, architectural engineering, and some other areas are presented there in a short phase. But most of the areas covered almost all the basic science areas that we generally learn from primary to mid-school level with a few glimpses of the very recent scientific achievements in various fields.

From physical science to chemistry, the human body to modern medical studies, energy generation technology to artificial intelligence and human-machine interfaces, Chinese traditional medicine to some agricultural sciences are vividly presented for the visitors. Most importantly, all of these are visibly explained with the real-life practical operation which will make you feel that the earlier visit to this museum could make your mid-school science more interesting and enjoyable.

These are the age-old types of equipment that were used for the exploration of the universe in the area of astronomical studies. Some of them were amazing to have in the civilization which were invented in China. I have read about them in some books but I have seen many complex structures which are really motivating for the scientific community of the world. Though there were instructions of the operation but it seems to be very difficult to learn properly without prior knowledge. But some water clocks and some simple arrangements were also very easy to understand.

There is a short history of the contribution to the innovations of Chinese scientists from the early days of the civilizations. Some technologies such as papermaking technology, woodblock printing, movable type printing, winnower, Jacquard loom, some other drawings and drawing devices and many more inventionas.

There are also some sites for the exploration of Chinese medical science that exhibit the traditional herbs description, some treatment technologies such as acupuncture, and cupping methods for different diseases in the old days. As I am not used to with the Chinese language, so I didn't spend too much time at those locations.
