Memories: The only foods that is never digested! A visit to the PADMA

The Padma is a great river between India and Bangladesh. The word "PADMA" comes from the "Sanskrit" which means the lotus flower, and is mentioned in Hindu mythology as a byname for the Goddess Lakshmi. This river is known as the GANGES river in India. And it is known as the purest river where people go and take bath to make them purify. The water from this river r considered a very pure and is used in many Hindu religious activities!

The Ganges originates in the Gangotri Glacier of the Himalaya, and runs through India and Bangladesh to the Bay of Bengal. The Padma enters Bangladesh at Shibganj in the district of Chapai Nababganj. The Ganges branches into two distributaries, the Hooghly and the Padma at Giria in Murshidabad district of India . The Hooghly River, which continues southwards in India is also known as the Ganga (traditionally) and Bhagirathi. Further downstream, in Goalando, 2,200 kilometres (1,400 mi) from the source, the Padma is joined by the Jamuna (Lower Brahmaputra) and the resulting combination flows with the name Padma further east, to Chandpur. Here, the widest river in Bangladesh, the Meghna joins the Padma, continuing as the Meghna almost in a straight line to the south, ending in the Bay of Bengal. wikipedia

The river PADMA is the longest river of the Indian subcontinent. In Bangladesh the river enters into from the mid-west part between the Khulna and Kushtia districts and then the Pabna district. As I am from Kushtia district, I live not so far from the entry point of the river into Bangladesh. Our national fish "Ilish" which are caught from the Padma river is known as the "PADMAR ILISH" which are the best in quality and famous all over the country and in Kolkata of India!

location-googlemaps

I have visited this place with my cousins and a bunch of friends. Though this place is not a famous tourist spot, many people during many festivals people visit this place with their family and friends! This place has some eye-catching views and a vast open space during winter when the water of the river is dried up by more than 70%. I have visited this area both during the full of water and in the dry season several times.

The natural beauty of the Surrounding

The area is not so amazing but you can find the open sky and if you hire a boat to travel around the river you can find the scenic beauty of the sky with the greenish landscape. Also, after some distance, you can find the Hardinge Rail Bridge on the River which I have introduced in my previous post. As a riverein country, Bangladesh has hundreds of rivers like a network and our water ways are very convenient everywhere.

And another thing about the area is that From that area you can see the see some parts of India and before the recent wall, people can visit India by this river. But now it is not possible for increasing border crimes and smuggling!

Some clicks of 10 years old back in 2012!
Really our memories never die, we can recall some unimaginable details of some happening on many occasions. Like you can never forget about your first proposal or first date and many of your feeling throughout your life!

These following clicks have been taken by my first ever mobile phone when I didn't have a good phone like now and at that time in the village areas mobile phones were not so popular and most of the cases people use the feature phones without a camera! Luckily I had a phone with a camera but without internet, as you cant imagine the wap version of browsing nowadays in the web version! Though I don't have the technical knowledge of either of them.

Thank you very much for your time in reading my post. I will catch you at the next. Have a nice day!
