Good Morning Hive Family, welcome aboard and thank you for stopping by my blog today. I suppose I will do a little throwback post for my thirtieth travel digest post. This post is taking you back to 2007. My sister had worked for a Casino being a Casino host for the baller's and or rich people, so I used to get tickets for the suite the Casino had at the stadium. So for about four years I took many to pretty much every Charger game, which included VIP parking pass, where we would drink, BBQ, throw a football around right at the front gate and pretty much take in the sites and sounds. We call it tailgating and I am sure many other countries do the same hours before the game. Seeing that the Chargers have moved on due to them sucking the city dry and bad politicians, as well as politics, they are now in Los Angeles. Currently they are demolition this Stadium and more on that with a little history later.
So after a five hour tailgating session, its time to go up to the suite, where its basically a decent size room with TV's, hot food, like hot dogs, nachos etc. Then you have all you can drink bar, now this was more geared towards gamblers but some how we always seemed to take it over, I would bring many of friends at different times. Inside seating seeing the filed would get a little crowded at times and the suite had also about 15 seats to watch the game as well. For this time was the special time, I had, well lets say my sister had got us access to go on the field pre-game, so it was a real special moment to get close to all these players you cheer and yell for. So this post is what pictures I have left that are not corrupted or ruined or lost due to my hard drive crash.
The stadium opened in 1967 as San Diego Stadium and was known as Jack Murphy Stadium from 1981 to 1997 and let me tell you I have been coming here since a child to an adult, minus when I was living in the other countries for them years. From 1997 to 2017, the stadium's naming rights were owned by San Diego-based telecommunications equipment company Qualcomm, and the stadium was known as Qualcomm Stadium. The naming rights expired on June 14, 2017 and were purchased by San Diego County Credit Union renaming the facility as SDCCU Stadium on September 19, 2017. The stadium closed in March 2020 and demolition is currently underway, scheduled to be completed in early 2021. I have been thinking of going down there and seeing if I can capture some shot's, it is kinda sad to see this stadium go but it was pretty old getting run down. The saddest part is San Diego losing a football team but I guess it was the right decision now seeing what the plandemic and politics have done in the sports community.
Well I guess I shall let everyone enjoy the photo's of my past and hope everyone enjoys them. So I will go with this one as my cover photo because it tells the story of game view at the start, when the players come rushing out the tunnel for warm-ups.
So let's start here, where we tailgate, drink and BBQ. This section is the best spot and its kinda funny cause the place is packed but this section because its roped off but most of the rich people that have VIP parking come for the game and not tailgating so we have a big open section to have fun and throw the football around etc.
They have a few entrances to the Stadium but this is the main entrance and glad I still have a shot of it.
Not anymore but if you new me back then, I loved Red Bull but now I stay away from it.
Just some grillin and chillin.
Don't forget my favorite, I love grilling shrimp and wouldn't have it any other way.
Now in the Stadium, you can see how packed these games get and also you can see the bonus red trolley in the distance.
So many things going on inside and outside the stadium, kinda sad that these are all just a distant memory.
Unfortunately I don't have that many shot's anymore, very sad but these round about's will forever be in my memory.
At last on field and you sure do feel like your someone when your down here.
Probably one of the most loved and coolest dudes to play football, Ladanian Tomlinson and for sure a Hall of Famer. To be this close was unreal and exciting. Enjoy some shots around.
Darren Spoles another fan favorite right here, he is a real short guy and small guy, so people love that he is out here battling with the big guys.
The infamous tunnel, where all the players come down form the locker room for game time.
Now entering. up in the suite and them seats, enjoy.
End game I had got some cool shot's with parts of the stadium in it, what a memory.
Well I hope you enjoyed this post of a memory that is now in the past but I will never forget all the blessings I have and still have.
