Bangladesh Folk Art & Crafts Foundation (BFACF) has worked to preserve and showcase a wide range of traditional crafts, including pottery, weaving, embroidery, woodwork, and more. The Sonargaon Museum is one of the places where you can get to see all history related to our culture, nation, and religion at a glance.

I have visited the place several times and every time it wonders me. The collection is so huge that I can't finish off and had to go back again and again. Also, the natural beauty and architectural significance of the place are what attract tourists the most.

Let me share my visit to the museum with some photos.

Before I start sharing the folk arts and crafts, I want to give you a reference to the palace where the museum is located.

Isn't it amazing?

I have shared a detailed post about the place from my previous visit. Here's the post, you can take a look.

The museum is housed in the former residence of the British Deputy Governor, which was built in the early 20th century.

The museum's collection includes artifacts and exhibits related to the history and culture of Sonargaon and its surrounding areas. The exhibits cover a wide range of topics, including the city's ancient history, its role as a center of trade and commerce, and its cultural and artistic traditions.

The first floor is delicate with some historical photos related to our folk art and craft. Then the exhibition starts where you will get to see a huge collection of wooden statues, daily life products, Hindu god/goddess statues, and all.

This museum also has a collection of photographs and other historical documents related to the history of Sonargaon. These documents provide insight into the city's past, including its role as an important center of trade and commerce during the Mughal and British periods.
