MEDI Museum Caracas, Venezuela (ENG-ESP)

Greetings friends who love reading, travel and adventure. I have already made several travel posts in the blockchains, and it is one of the things I like to share in Hive, a look at those places I discover and to bring you that knowledge and a little of the adventure I lived. This time the protagonist is the Carlos Cruz Diez Museum of Print and Design (MEDI).

This museum is located in the city of Caracas, on Bolivar Avenue near Paseo Vargas, its inauguration was on December 17, 1997, and its name is due to a Venezuelan artist considered a great representative of contemporary art in the country. The museum building that I will show you was designed by architect Horacio Corse.

Ya he realizado varias publicaciones de viajes en la blockchains, y es una de las cosas que más me gusta compartir en Hive, una mirada a esos lugares que descubro y poder traerles ese conocimiento y un poco de la aventura que yo viví. En esta oportunidad el protagonista es el Museo de la Estampa y del Diseño Carlos Cruz Diez (MEDI).

Este museo se encuentra en la ciudad de Caracas, en la avenida Bolívar cerca del Paseo Vargas, su inauguración fue el 17 de diciembre del 1997, y su nombre se debe a un artista venezolano considerado un gran representante del arte contemporáneo en el país. El edificio que les mostraré del museo fue diseñado por el arquitecto Horacio Corse.

The place welcomes you with a particular building, which has in its entrance the name of the museum, after its facade you enter the structure, where there is a reception for visitors, explaining the safety standards, due to COVID-19 and safety standards for the works presented in the museum.

As I entered, I passed by a room set to receive visitors with photographs of emblematic works of the country and a black chair to take your best photographic souvenir, further on is one of the art exhibits, where each painting with its play of colors and shapes, made me deploy my imagination and admire the abstract and entertaining beauty of each work.

El lugar te recibe con una edificación particular, la cual posee en su entrada el nombre del museo, luego de su fachada se entra a la estructura, donde se encuentra una recepción para los visitantes, se explican las normas de seguridad, debido al COVID-19 y las normas de seguridad para las obras presentadas en el museo.

Al adentrarme pase por una habitación ambientada para recibir a los visitantes con fotografías de obras emblemáticas del país y una silla negra para llevarte tu mejor recuerdo fotográfico, más adelante se encuentra una de las exhibiciones de arte, donde cada cuadro con su juego de colores y formas, me hacía desplegar mi imaginación y admirar la belleza abstracta y entretenida de cada obra.

As I continued walking through the building, I found more aspects of art that I did not know, among them some hanging rectangular figures of translucent colors, which let me see colors, shadows and shapes in their space, in a pleasant and artistic way.

Mientras seguía caminando por el edificio, encontraba más aspectos del arte que desconocía, entre ellos unas figuras rectangulares colgadas, de colores traslucidos, las cuales dejaban ver entre su espacio colores, sombras y formas, de una manera agradable y artística.

Among the characteristic aspects of the place, I had the opportunity to enter a chrome-saturation chamber, for which I wore special footwear provided by the museum staff. The saturation room is a space designed by Cruz Diez in 2004, where he sought to overcome the distance between the individual and the work, through a sensory experience, where the visitor is immersed in a space where everything is color.

In this chamber everything is color, sincerely the experience is fantastic, a corridor where the colors and the spectator share the work of art, and the ocular sensation is great, you should visit a place like this.

Entre los aspectos característicos del lugar, tuve la oportunidad de entrar a una cámara de cromo-saturación, para el cual usé un calzado especial, suministrado por el personal del museo. El cuarto de saturación es un espacio diseñado por Cruz Diez en el año 2004, donde buscaba superar la distancia entre el individuo y la obra, a través de una experiencia sensorial, donde el visitante se encuentra inmerso en un espacio donde todo es color.

En esta cámara todo es color, sinceramente la experiencia es fantástica un pasillo donde los colores y el espectador comparten la obra de arte, y la sensación ocular es genial, deberían visitar un lugar así.

When leaving the chrome-saturation chamber, I found a photographic line, with the place and time of inauguration of the works of art of the artist Cruz Diez, and a corridor full of flat and three-dimensional artworks to dismiss visitors.

Al salir de la cámara de cromo-saturación, me encontré con una línea fotográfica, con el lugar y momento de inauguración de las obras de arte del artista Cruz Diez, y un pasillo lleno de obras de arte planas y tridimensionales para despedir a los visitantes.

To end the tour, you pass by a very interesting souvenir store with an innovative and artistic look, where you can see various types of items to take away, such as t-shirts, postcards, busts, books and bags.

Para finalizar el recorrido, pasas por una tienda de recuerdos muy interesante y con aspecto innovador y artística, donde puedes observar varios tipos de artículos para llevar, como franelas, postales, bustos, libros y bolsos.

A unique, fun and educational experience, in which I had the opportunity to learn, get to know a new place, be entertained, interact with the guides and caretakers who were very kind and attentive.
