We are in Christmas time where many countries are with decorations and lights around, without a doubt it is one of my favorite time, especially in Portugal that the streets are full of cute decorations and joy along with some delicious meals to warm you up this winter.

Estamos en época navideña donde muchos países están con decoraciones y luces alrededor, sin duda es una de mi época favorita, sobre todo en Portugal que las calles están llenas de decoraciones lindas y alegría junto a unas comidas deliciosas para calentarte en este invierno.

From the center of Lisbon, which is Marques de Pombal to Baixa-Chiado which is the lower area of Lisbon, near the river Tejo, is accompanied by decorations, lights and sales of chestnuts. So it is in winter time Portugal is surrounded by chestnut sellers, it is a custom to eat at this time because these nuts abound in the country. But did you know that this tradition was born 600 years ago in Oporto which is located in the north of Portugal, was born the tradition of eating chestnuts with a good wine celebrating with families on the day of Sao João and that tradition was expanding to all Portugal, even reaching Spain where you can also find roasted chestnuts. But don't worry, if you don't like roasted chestnuts, it is also normal at this time to find many food carts selling churros, hot dogs, fresh fried sweet potatoes, bifanas and hamburgers. On this beautiful day I tasted some tasty sweet potatoes along with some chestnuts, without a doubt the smell in the streets got me.

Desde el centro de Lisboa, que es Marqués de Pombal hasta Baixa -Chiado que es la zona baja de Lisboa, cerca del río Tejo, está acompañado de decoraciones, luces y ventas de castañas. Así es en época de invierno Portugal está rodeado de vendedores de castañas, es una costumbre comer en esta época porque esos frutos secos abundan en el país. Pero sabías que esta tradición nació hace 600 años en Oporto que se encuentra localizado en el norte de Portugal, nació la tradición de comer castañas junto a un buen vino celebrando con las familias en el día de Sao João y esa tradición fue expandiéndose hasta todo Portugal, incluso llegando a España donde también te puedes encontrar las castañas asadas. Pero tranquilo, si no te gustan las castañas asadas, también es normal en esta época encontrarse muchos carros de comida vendiendo churros, hot dogs, batatas fritas frescas, bifanas y hamburguesas. Yo en este lindo día probé unas sabrosas batatas junto a unas castañas, sin duda el olor en las calles me atrapo.
Wonderland certainly couldn't get away that day and I don't mean the one from the Alice in Wonderland movie, Lisbon has a huge Christmas festival where you can enjoy delicious food, attractions, take some nice pictures with the Christmas decorations and an ice rink, it is located in Marques de Pombal in the high side of the center, the entrance is free for the festival and then you can find other stalls selling winter clothes, food and attractions for kids, but in this case my target was the ice rink, it is one of the attractions I always love to do every year.
The only bad thing about this festival being so famous is the amount of people, from the first of December to the first of January you will always find it full, an impressive amount of people, I even had to wait 2 hours in line to get into the ice rink, but in the end I got my whim and took some super beautiful pictures.

Sin duda Wonderland no podría escaparse ese día y no me refiero al de la película de Alicia en el país de las maravillas, Lisboa tiene un enorme festival navideño donde puedes disfrutar de ricas comidas, atracciones, tomarte unas lindas fotos con la decoración de navidad y una pista de hielo, se encuentra localizado en Marqués de Pombal en el lado alto del centro, la entrada es gratuita para el festival ya luego puedes encontrarte con otros puestos de ventas de ropa de invierno comida y atracciones para niños, pero en este caso mi objetivo fue la pista de hielo es una de las atracciones que siempre adoro hacer cada año.
Lo único malo de este festival ser tan famoso es la cantidad de personas, desde el primero de diciembre hasta el primero de enero siempre lo encontrarás lleno, una cantidad de personas impresionante, incluso tuve que esperar 2 horas en una fila para entrar a la pista de hielo, pero al final logre mi capricho y tomar algunas fotos super hermosas.
After some laughs and falls in the ice rink, it's time to go down to Lisbon where you can find the famous Armazens do Chiado where the streets are decorated and the shopping center where you can do your shopping for Christmas gifts or eat some snacks in the food area, in Lisbon every end of November is held a televised event where you can see the moment where Lisbon is illuminated with its lights, many countries perform this event and Portugal also participates by lighting from the top of the city to the river Tejo.
Note: I do not recommend to go by car because the traffic is a level of insanity because of the streets closed by the amount of people.

Luego de unas risas y caídas en la pista de hielo, es momento de bajar a Lisboa donde puedes encontrarte con el famoso Armazens do Chiado donde se decora sus calles y el centro comercial donde puedes hacer tus compras de regalos para navidad o comer algunas cosillas en el área de comida, en Lisboa cada fin de mes de noviembre es realizado un evento televisado donde se presencia el momento donde se ilumina Lisboa con sus luces, muchos países realizan ese evento y Portugal también participa iluminando desde lo alto de la ciudad hasta al río Tejo.
Nota: no recomiendo ir en coche porque el transito es una nivel de demencia por las calles cerradas por la cantidad de personas.

Nos encontramos en el área baja de Lisboa, exactamente en Praca do Comercio o como le suelo decir yo el tumulto turístico, es la zona donde más se concentran demasiadas personas, ya que si eres turista tienes que pasar por esa zona sí o sí, les cuento que como su nombre le indica antiguamente era la zona comercial más grande como se encuentra localizado en el río tejo muchos barcos traían desde afuera objetos, comidas etc. para comercializar en la plaza. Como es una zona turística muchas personas aprovechan en realizar eventos, ya sea cantando, actuando o bailando, en esta ocasión me encontré con un exfutbolista que estaba haciendo presentaciones con un balón y otra persona que estaba realizando un discurso sobre la vida y la política. Así que si tienes algún talento puedes demostrarlo en esta área serás escuchado y visto al 100%.
I feel happy to be able to share in this way the culture of this country that I live in for many years and I will always carry in my heart, although Portugal is not only Cristiano Ronaldo, its nature, culture, people and history is very rich, it is also the oldest country in Europe, so its history is very extensive and interesting, if you plan to visit any country in Europe you can stop by here without a doubt you will not regret it.
