Siempre que nos preparamos para viajar nos interesa conocer los lugares más interesantes que nos ofrecen los países que visitamos , hoy específicamente les voy a guiar en una visita por La Finca Vigía , que fue la casa o diría más , el santuario en la Habana donde vivió el famoso escritor norte Americano Ernest Hemingway
Pero antes déjenme que les presente a una persona, una amiga que vive en los EU , en la ciudad de Boston, que conocí hace 6 años y que siempre que puede se da una ecapadilla y viene a visitar Cuba , Kamila, cada vez que viene investiga lugares nuevos para visitar y antes de la pandemia, si mi memoria no me falla en el año 2018 , me dijo que quería ir a conocer La Finca Vigía , ese año estaba en remodelación y no lo sabíamos, así que fue un poco frustrante cuando después de rentar un auto y llegar hasta el lugar no pudimos entrar.

Pero pero calma … como saben vino la pandemia y cerraron los aeropuertos, los viajes fueron cancelados y el mundo como que se detuvo, así que no fue hasta este año específicamente, la semana pasada que mi amiga pudo regresar a la Habana y logramos realizar finalmente la visita a la finca

Alquilamos una vez mas nuestro almendrón, como le decimos acá a los viejos chevrolet y 15 min después estábamos entrando a la casa del gran Ernest Hemingway

Whenever we prepare to travel we are always interested in knowing the most interesting places that the countries we visit offer us, today specifically I am going to guide you on a visit to La Finca Vigia, which was the house or I would say more, the sanctuary in Havana where the famous American writer Ernest Hemingwaylived.

But first let me introduce you to a person , a friend who lives in the US , in the city of Boston , I met 6 years ago and whenever she can, she gives herself a run away and comes to visit Cuba , Kamila every time comes she investigates new places to visit and before the pandemic if my memory does not fail me in the year 2018 , she told me she wanted to go to La Finca Vigia, that year it was under renovation and we did not know it, so it was a little frustrating when after renting a car and getting to the place we could not enter.

But calm down ... as you know the pandemic came and the airports were closed, the trips were cancelled and the world stopped, so it was not until this year specifically, last week that my friend was able to return to Havana and we were finally able to visit the farm.

We rented once again our almendron, as we say here to the old Chevrolets, and 15 minutes later we were entering the house of the great Ernest Hemingway.

Cuando llegas vemos esta construcción moderna donde se compran las entradas , el auto descapotable que ven en la foto no fue el que nos trajo, sino un chevrolet rojo que sonaba mas que un tractor jajjaja

When you arrive we see this modern building where you buy the tickets, the convertible car you see in the picture was not the one that brought us, but a red chevrolet that sounded more than a old truck hahahaha

En esta señalética pueden ver los diferentes lugares de la casa, al principio pensé que no me iba a gustar porque donde vendían las entradas te dicen que no puedes ir a los interiores, que puedes tomar fotos a través de puertas y ventanas y eso me apago un poco , pero pese a ese inconveniente una vez que entre y fui descubriendo la buena vibra del lugar me fue gustando bastante

Algo que me llamó la atención fue la abundante vegetación con gran variedad de plantas y colores, prácticamente es un parque natural

Empezamos a rodear la casa haciendo fotografías desde las puertas y ventanas

Something that caught my attention was the abundant vegetation with a great variety of plants and colors, it is practically a natural park.

We started to go around the house taking pictures from the doors and windows.

Hasta aquí pudimos apreciar la cantidad de libros que tenía , su uniforme ( el participó en la 1ra, segunda guerra mundial y también en la guerra civil española) otra cosa curiosa que nos contaron que tenía más de 50 gatos y 4 perros, de hecho, en otro lugar de la casa vimos una bóveda funeraria con los nombres de sus perros

Up to here we could appreciate the amount of books he had, his uniform (he participated in the 1st and 2nd World War and also in the Spanish Civil War) another curious thing was that we were told that he had more than 50 cats and 4 dogs actually in another part of the house we saw a funeral vault with the names of his dogs.

Desde aquí que es uno de los laterales de la casa , subimos a una gran torre , en el piso más alto tenía un cuarto con un telescopio, una máquina de escribir y una especie de camita, dicen que ahí pasaba muchísimas horas escribiendo sus novelas

Seguimos caminando y nos encontramos muchísimo más follaje, la zona del yate llamado Pilar, barco del papa Hemingway como le decían por acá , que utilizaba mucho en sus aventuras pesqueras , en la corrida del pes espada , que probablemente haya inspirado su célebre novela "El viejo y Mar" y el área de la piscina

We continued walking and we found a lot more foliage, the area of the yacht called Pilar, ship of dad Hemingway as he was called him around here, which he used a lot in his fishing adventures, in the run of the swordfish, which probably inspired his famous novel "The Old Man and the Sea" and the pool area.

Aquí mi amiga Kami que no pierde oportunidades para conversar con todas las personas que va encontrando, mientras práctica su español , que poco a poco va mejorando en cada viaje

Ya después regresamos a la parte de adelante donde también hay una tienda de souvenirs y un pequeño bar

Ese fue todo el recorrido por la finca y para terminar la tarde con broche de oro , nos fuimos a un restaurante en el malecón a comer una rica pizza y tomar alguna que otra cervecita, porque algo que aún no les he dicho es que mi amiga también estaba de cumpleaños ese día y esta visita fue realmente un regalo y una celebración después de esa larga espera por la maldita epidemia que vivió el mundo

That was the whole tour of the farm and to end the afternoon on a high note, we went to a restaurant on the boardwalk to eat a delicious pizza and drink a beer or two because something I haven't told you yet is that my friend also had a birthday that day and this visit was really a gift and a celebration after that long wait for the damn epidemic that the world experienced.
