Welcome to my travel blog!

Hello Everyone, This is the sixth post in my travel series #ExploreBangla on Hive. Today I will tell you about my visit to Mujibnagor Sritishodh .

This Mujibnagar Sritishodh stands as a symbol of many sacrifices in Bangladesh's freedom struggle. What you think is about the people who sacrificed themselves in the 1971 liberation war. For the first time I was awestruck by the environment I had read many times before but seeing it in person was different.

It was here that the first provisional government of Bangladesh was formed and sworn in. There are 11 steps and 23 pillars and a red stone platform in the middle. And it is bounded by many stones a little above the ground.

The 11 stairs of the memorial represent the 11 sectors into which Bangladesh was divided during the Liberation War. And by 23 pillars the period in Bangladesh's freedom movement is defined. The height of these pillars starts from 9 feet 9 inches and gradually increases by one foot 9 inches to 25 feet 6 inches which reminds the nine months long war of Bangladesh. The red space you can see in the middle is where the provisional government of Bangladesh was formed and sworn in. 1971 symbolizes the union of seven and a half million people.

After visiting the memorial, I went to see eight statues inside which were beautifully made to depict the devastation wrought on Bengal, which looked very beautiful.
