#3 Discovering Medicinal Plant for the day in The Himalayas that can cure Diarrhoea, Bronchitis and much more.

Namaste Everyone,

In today’s Post I will be sharing information about the Medicinal Plant that I have selected for today’s post that can be helpful in Emesis, Diarrhoea, Cough, Tapeworms, Dysentery and Bronchitis. Now a days i'm working on exploring the medicinal plants in the Himalayas of which I did research during my High School days, there are lot of plants that are still hidden for me, but everyday is a new opportunity so I keep on exploring the Mighty Hills of Himalayas for these Magical Plants.

The local name of this fruit is Dadu, it me look like a Pomegranate but is not a Pomegranate but is a variety of Pomegranate. Dadu tree has a large deciduous shrub. Leaves are opposite to each other, leaves of Dadu plant is about 2.5cm to 6.3cm in length and flowers of this plant is about 3.8cm to 7.5cm.

Calayx of Dadu tree is greenish red in colour and flowers are bright red, tabular, having numerous stamens.
Botanical name of Dadu plant is Punica granatum Linn. This species are found growing wild in the warm valleys and outer hills of Himalayas between 900m to 1900m and is cultivated throughout India. It forms vast patches in open dry slopes of Mandi, Kangra, Sirmor, Bilaspur, Chamba, Kullu and Shimla in Himachal Pradesh.

Fruits of Dadu are about 3.8 cm to 7.5 cm in diameter and seeds are numerous and angular. These plants are native to Europe, Australia, Mauritius.

Its seeds are referred as good appetiser. Juice of its seeds is helpful in vomiting.

Chewing strip of its peel cure cough.

Bark of Dadu plant is used to expel tapeworms.

Rind is used as an astringent in Diarrhoea and Dysentery.

Soup of flower buds of Dadu plant has been found helpful to cure Bronchitis.
