I wrote the article first in English and then in Slovak
It was 2016 and I was thinking about where to organize my farewell to freedom. I wanted to take her a little differently. I didn't want it to be an organization of a cottage where we all get drunk and the next day we'll be just so bad. I like hiking and therefore I wanted to combine pleasant with useful. So I booked a cottage in Liptovský Mikuláš, invited friends to it and in addition to alcohol, I also packed tourist equipment.
As part of my farewell, I was free to invent a hike to two beautiful valleys in which I had never been before. They are Prosiecka and Kvačianska dolina.
In the morning we left our accommodation in the morning. After all, we had been up a long time the night before and we needed to rest. We melted the cars in the Kvačany estuary parking lot. From here you can only walk. A 16.8 km long hike awaits us with a total elevation gain of 750 meters above sea level.
We move across the meadows along the forest to the mouth of the Prosiecká valley. It is this valley that we want to cross first. We enter the 3.5-kilometer-long valley through a narrow rocky passage. Right from the beginning, I start to like it here, because I like such a gorge.
In this valley there are many different species of plants typical of the limestone subsoil. Thanks to its rugged terrain and frequent inversions, there are also species of cold-loving to alpine plant species.
As we rise upstream, we see how the vegetation has gnawed into the local limestone gates.
A walk through this valley was enriched by this beautiful waterfall. The stream of water in the Red Sands Waterfall is currently small, but if there is enough water in the spring or it is raining for a longer time, then this 15-meter-high waterfall must look impressive.
In the end, the valley narrows again and we go up the ladder.
The water in the limestone created small ponds. The firecrackers that came to show us became domesticated in them.
We slowly leave the Prosiecká valley and through the meadow and the village of Veľké Borové we come to a green tourist sign. This is an unmistakable sign that we are entering the second valley that we have decided to cross today.
The Kvačianska valley was shaped by the Kvačianka stream, which flows through it. It is 4.6 km long and offers tourists a wonderful tourist experience.
The entrance from this side of the valley reminds me of the exit from the Prosiek valley. There are also small lakes. The sun shines just on one of them and gives this place the right atmosphere.
We continue around the high rock gates further along the hiking trail in the descent.
In a short time we come to the old water mills. The mills of the clouds, as this place is called, is a cultural monument.
The upper mill was built in the first half of the 19th century. It was built by the village of Malé Borové for the needs of local residents.
The lower mill was built by the village of Veľké Borové at the same time. There is an old sawmill here, which has been renovated and we also went to see it.
Originally, there were four mills in the valley. The third was a tavern set on fire in 1944 by the retreating fascists. The fourth mill was taken up by a large water in the 19th century.
And so we walk around and admire at least the two who still stay here.
At the end of our trip we see the rock formation Jánosík's head. It is said that when it rains, the rock cries. Clouds began to converge above us, and instead of verifying it, we added a step.
Once again, I have to say that it was a very nice trip and a pleasant day with friends.

Písal sa rok 2016 a ja som rozmýšľal, kde usporiadam svoju rozlúčku so slobodou. Chcel som ju poňať trochu ináč. Nechcel som, aby to bola orgnizácia chaty, kde sa všetci opijeme a na druhý deň nám bude akurát tak zle. Mám rád turistiku a preto som chcel skombinovať príjemné s užitočným. Zarezervoval som teda chatu v Liptovskom Mikuláši, pozval som na ňu kamarátov a okrem alkoholu som si zbalil aj turistické vybavenie.
V rámci mojej rozlúčky som slobodou som si vymyslel túru do dvoch krásnych dolín v ktorých som predtým nikdy nebol. Sú to Prosiecka a Kvačianska dolina.
Ráno sme z nášho ubytovania vyrazili v doobedňajších hodinách. Predsa len sme večer predtým boli dlho hore a potrebovali sme si oddýchnuť. Autá sme odtavili na parkovisku Kvačany ústie. Odtiaľto sa ide už len pešo. Čaká nás túra dlhá 16,8 km s celkovým prevýšením 750 metrov nad morom.
Cez lúky sa popri lese presúvame k ústiu Prosieckej doliny. Práve túto dolinu chceme prejsť ako prvú. Do doliny dlhej 3,5 kilometra vchádzame cez úzky skalný prechod. Hneď od začiatku sa mi tu začína páčiť, pretože takého rokliny mám rád.
V tejto doline sa nachádza množstvo rôznych druhov rastlín typických pre vápencové podložie. Vďaka svojmu členitému terénu a častými inverziami sa tu vyskytujú aj druhy chladnomilných až alpínskych druhov rastlín.
Ako tak stúpame proti prúdu vidíme, ako sa vegetácia zahryzla do tunajších vápencových brál.
Prechádzku po tejto doline obohatil aj tento pekný vodopád. Prúd vody vo Vodopáde Červené piesky je momentálne malý, ale ak je dostatok vody na jar alebo dlhšie prší, tak tento 15 metrov vysoký vodopád musí pôsobiť impozantne.
Na záver sa dolina opäť zužuje a my prechádzame rebríkom vyššie.
Voda vo vápenci vytvorila malé jazierka. V nich sa udomácnili žabky, ktoré sa nám prišli ukázať.
Pomaly vychádzame z Prosieckej doliny a cez lúku a obec Veľké Borové prichádzame na zelenú turisticku značku. To je neklamný znak toho, že vstupujeme do druhej doliny, ktorú sme sa dnes rozhodli prejsť.
Kvačiansku dolinu vytvaroval potok Kvačianka, ktorý ňou preteká. Je dlhá 4,6 km a turistom ponúka nádherný turistický zážitok.
Vstup z tejto strany doliny mi pripomína výstup z doliny Prosiek. Takisto sa tu nachádzajú malé jazierka. Slnko svieti akurát na jedno z nich a dodáva tomuto miestu tú pravú atmosféru.
Pokračujeme okolo vysokých skalných brál ďalej po turistickom chodníku v klesaní.
O malú chvíľu prichádzame k starým vodným mlynom. Mlyny oblazy, ako sa toto miesto volá, je kultúrnou pamiatkou.
Horný mlyn bol postavený v prvej polovici 19. storočia. Postavila ho obec Malé Borové pre potreby miestnych obyvateľov.
Dolný mlyn bol postavený obcou Veľké Borové v rovnakom čase. Nachádza sa tu stará píla, ktorá je zrekonštruovaná a aj my sme si ju boli pozrieť.
Pôvodne sa v doline nachádzali štyri mlyny. Tretí z nich bola krčma, ktorú v roku 1944 podpálili ustupujúci fašisti. Štvrtý mlyn v 19. storočí zobrala veľká voda.
A tak sa prechádzame a obdivujeme aspoň tie dva, ktoré tu ešte ostali.
Na záver nášho výletu vidíme skalný útvar Jánosíkova hlava. Hovorí sa, že keď prší, tak skala plače. Nad nami sa začali zbiehať mraky a namiesto toho, aby sme si to overili, tak sme pridali do kroku.
Opäť raz musím skonštatovať, že to bol veľmi pekný výlet a príjemne strávený deň s kamarátmi.
