Traveling from Davao City to Mati City:

We left Barangay Catalunan Grande in Davao City and went to Mati City traveling via the Pan-Philippine Highway/AH26 and Surigao-Davao Coastal Road and it took us 3 hours and 47 minutes before arriving at Villa Merced Hotel because we went first to Kenny's relatives.

During our visit to Mati City to with Chris Rice, and Kenny Owano's family we stayed at Villa Merced Hotel and it only costs us around P1,500.00 for the three of us to stay in the said hotel, and we even extend for two extra hours.

As of posting time, the hotel doesn't provide airport transfer services. Villa Merced has a total of 14 rooms and a total of 2 floors. Check-in time is after 12:00 and the check-out time is before 12:00.

Stopping at Villa Merced Hotel to discover the wonders of Mati City. Both business travelers and tourists can enjoy the hotel's facilities and services. Inside the hotel there's a hotel towel, air conditioning, desk, TV.

Villa Merced Hotel had a comfortable waiting area in the lobby of the hotel and the furniture are not that elegant but already good enough for a decent place to stay.

There is also a piece of architectural art at the table and another interesting sights at the lobby is the work of art by a painter. This place will surely catch the attentions of art lovers and enthusiasts who plan to stay at the hotel.

I also went to the back side of the hotel to check the other facilities offered by Villa Merced, at the back of the hotel there's a small garden that is refreshing to the eyes especially when you are tired from long travel or work, this garden is indeed a stress reliever.

Aside from checking the back side of the hotel, I also took up the stairs and went to the second floor. There's a waiting area and some chairs to relax.

Inside Villa Merced Rooms:

Inside the rooms we rented a two-bed room and added a mattress for the three of us. The entire ambiance of the room is indeed relaxing and there's a TV set if you want to watch, the only problem is that the shows only offered local TV shows because there is no cable TV connections.

The two-bedroom room was quite comfy and the Comfort Room is already good for the money we spent although the shower don't work anymore, maybe in the other rooms it worked but for us who stayed at Room 11, the shower did not work.

With the P1,500 we paid for the one-night stay at Villa Merced Hotel for the three of us, there is already a free breakfast for two. Chris was still sleeping because he was so tired from traveling so, I and Kenny decided to eat the free breakfast for two.

Nearby Attractions at Villa Merced:

Although we did not go around to visit some other tourist attractions, the person who was in-charge at the lobby told us some nearby attractions that we could visit.
The hotel is just a seven minutes walk to the popular Mati Baywalk Park, a three minutes walk to McDonald's Mati City, and 5 minutes walk to Mati City Hall.

She also told us that nearby attractions include the famous Dahican Beach, the Sleeping Dinosaur Island, and Subangan Museum, to name a few.

When you're having your own car, it will only take around 18 minutes to visit the Sleeping Dinosaur View Deck, one of the most popular tourist destination in Mati City. When returning to Davao City, Kenny told me to take some pictures of the famous Sleeping Dinosaur Island.

Dahican Beach is not that far away also as it will take you only around 16 minutes of travel time using a private car via Dahican-Lawigan Road.

Subangan Museum is just 8 minutes of travel via private vehicle but if you would like to walk, you can walk maybe around 50 minutes to one hour before you will arrive at the museum from Villa Merced Hotel.

This is my personal review about Villa Merced Hotel, and I am entitled to my own opinion, if you have a different experience, then you can also post yours.
