Hello, in this post I will tell you about my trip to Van. This time I will tell you about two beautiful districts, Bahçesaray and Edremit district where I was born and raised. Bahçesaray is normally famous for the length of winter (it lasts about 9 months) but I went there for the first time last summer. It had a magnificent nature. Imagine, my friend and I started to feel cold there in July. We even had to leave early. Edremit is a beach town. Located on the shores of Lake Van, the district is famous for its calmness and picnic areas. However, in this article I will share more of the side streets and the photos I took while visiting my relatives.
Let's start with Bahçesaray first.
Merhabalar, bu paylaşımımda size Van gezimden bahsedeceğim. Bu kez iki güzel ilçe olan Bahçesaray ve doğup büyüdüğüm Edremit ilçesini anlatacağım. Bahçesaray normalde kış ayının uzunluğu ile meşhurdur (yaklaşık 9 ay sürüyor) ancak ben oraya ilk kez geçen yaz gittim. Muhteşem bir doğası vardı. Düşünün Temmuz ayında orada üşümeye başladık arkadaşımla. Hatta oradan erkenden ayrılmak zorunda kaldık. Edremit ise tam bir sahil kasabası. Van Gölü'nün kıyısında bulunan ilçe sakinliği ve piknik alanları ile meşhurdur. Ancak ben bu yazıda daha çok ara sokakları ve akrabalarımı ziyaret ederken çektiğim fotoğrafları paylaşacağım.
Hadi ilk olarak Bahçesaray'dan başlayalım.
Bahçesaray
Bahçesaray, one of the fascinating districts of Van, is a hidden paradise with its nature and peaceful atmosphere. This time my best friend and I escaped the hustle and bustle of the city by taking to the quiet roads of Bahçesaray. While taking the photo in this unique landscape, we lost track of time in the picnic area embraced by the mountains. The fresh air and the simplicity of nature did us a lot of good. This was just a glimpse of the mystical beauty of Bahçesaray that welcomed us, but the time we spent here offered so much more.
In the first photo, we captured a moment with my best friend in the heart of the lush nature of Bahçesaray. The smile on both of our faces shows that we were enjoying this beautiful moment.
Bahçesaray
Van’ın büyüleyici ilçelerinden Bahçesaray, doğası ve huzur dolu atmosferiyle adeta bir saklı cennet. Bu kez en yakın arkadaşım ile birlikte Bahçesaray’ın sakin yollarına düşerek, şehrin koşuşturmacasından kaçtık. Fotoğrafı, karşımıza çıkan bu eşsiz manzarada çekerken, dağların kucakladığı piknik alanında zamanın nasıl geçtiğini anlamadık. Temiz hava ve doğanın sadeliği bize çok iyi geldi. Bu kare, Bahçesaray'ın bizi karşılayan mistik güzelliğinin sadece bir anıydı, ama burada geçirdiğimiz zaman çok daha fazlasını sundu.
İlk fotoğrafta, Bahçesaray'ın yemyeşil doğasının kalbinde, en yakın arkadaşımla birlikte geçirdiğimiz bir anı yakaladık. İkimizin gülümsemesi, bu güzel anın tadını çıkardığımızı gösteriyor.
This road is not only tiring but also relaxing for the mind and soul. I took this photo for you, me and nature make a great duo :) This view I saw on my way to Bahçesaray reminds me that everything has its limits, but nature knows no limits. Sometimes that's all there is: The road, the mountains and endless peace.
Bu yol, insanı yormak bir yana, zihni ve ruhu dinlendiriyor. Bu fotoğrafı sizler için çektim. Ben ve doğa müthiş bir ikili olduk :) Bahçesaray’a giderken gördüğüm bu manzara, her şeyin bir sınırı olduğunu, ama doğanın sınır tanımadığını hatırlatıyor. Bazen sadece bu kadar: Yol, dağlar ve sonsuz bir huzur.
As I said at the beginning of the article, Bahçesaray is famous for its winter. Look, there is still snow on the mountains even in July. It looks like a postcard, doesn't it? My friend took this photo. This is one of the most special photos in my gallery.

Every bend on the way to Bahçesaray shows a different face of nature. Hidden among the high mountains, this road took us to a completely different world. Although the journey seems challenging, the magic of the landscape makes you forget all your tiredness. We drove for more than an hour on a road that would take half an hour. There were many bends and we had to be careful. The majesty of the mountains and the seemingly endless road make you feel small yet free. The rich nature of Bahçesaray comes to life in this photograph; everything here has a story, you just have to stop to listen to it.
Bahçesaray’a giderken her viraj, adeta doğanın farklı bir yüzünü gösteriyor. Yüksek dağların arasına gizlenmiş bu yol, bizi bambaşka bir dünyaya götürdü. Yolculuk zorlu görünse de, manzaranın büyüsü tüm yorgunluğu unutturuyor. Yarım saat sürecek bir yolu bir saatten fazla süreyle gittik. Çok fazla viraj vardı ve dikkatli olmalıydık. Dağların heybeti ve sonsuz gibi görünen yol, bir yandan insana küçük ama bir o kadar da özgür hissettiriyor. Bahçesaray’ın zengin doğası bu fotoğrafla adeta dile geliyor; burada her şeyin bir hikâyesi var, sadece dinlemek için durmak yeterli.
It is really wonderful to encounter this unique beauty of nature in one of the hidden corners of Bahçesaray. This place is prepared for those who want to have a picnic. A lot of families were there besides us. What makes this place different is that it is on the edge of the Müküs stream, the most famous stream of the district. Sometimes even the simplest moments, like this view, bring out the peace and happiness in you. This happiness seems to be reflected on my friend's and my face. This place is not only a journey, but also an experience that nourishes our souls. That is why it is important to savor every moment.
Bahçesaray’ın saklı köşelerinden birinde, doğanın bu eşsiz güzelliğiyle karşılaşmak gerçekten harika. Burası piknik yapmak isteyenler için hazırlanmış. Bizden başka bir sürü aile oradaydı. Burasını farklı kılan ilçenin en meşhur deresi olan Müküs deresinin kenarın olmasıdır. Bazen en basit anlar bile, bu manzarada olduğu gibi, içindeki huzuru ve mutluluğu ortaya çıkarıyor. Bu mutluluk arkadaşımla benim yüzüme fazlasıyla yansımış görünüyor. Burası, sadece bir yolculuk değil, aynı zamanda ruhumuzu besleyen bir deneyim. İşte bu yüzden, her anın tadını çıkarmak önemli.

This view is like a gateway to one of the hidden paradises of Bahçesaray. Here, the embracing sound and silence of nature immediately envelops you. Everything is so peaceful that it is hard to understand how time passes. This beauty in a tranquil moment can be felt not only with the eyes but also with the soul. Sometimes, it is enough just to stop and experience this moment. Here you can see the main source of the Müküs Waterfall. The water is so cold that you cannot stand still for more than, say, 30 seconds. The peaceful sound of the water feels like a part of the nature around me, as if everything around me was waiting to tell me about itself.
Bu manzara, Bahçesaray’ın gizli cennetlerinden birine açılan kapı gibi. Burada, doğanın kucaklayıcı sesi ve sessizliği insanı hemen sarıyor. Her şey o kadar huzur verici ki, zamanın nasıl geçtiğini anlamak zor. Dingin bir anın içindeki bu güzellik, sadece gözle değil, ruhla da hissediliyor. Bazen, sadece durup bu anı yaşamak yeter. Burada, Müküs Şelalesi’nin ana kaynağını görebilirsiniz. Suyu o kadar soğuk ki mesela 30 saniyeden fazla suda sabit bir şekilde duramazsınız. Bahçesaray is a place I can't get enough of exploring and this magnificent landscape reflects its magic. I highly recommend everyone to come to Bahçesaray to discover this natural paradise and find peace!

Edremit
Edremit; where I was born and raised. This place means a lot to me. When I go to Edremit, I am always mesmerized by the most beautiful shades of nature. Getting lost among Lake Van, lush green trees, fruits and the magnificent thunderstorms that appear with the rain is the most beautiful form of peace and happiness. Every corner here offers a beauty waiting to be discovered. Sometimes it is enough just to stop and look around and experience these landscapes. The embrace of nature turns Edremit into a fairy tale land.
Edremit
Edremit; doğup büyüdüğüm yer. Buranın bendeki anlamı çok fazla. Edremit'e gittiğimde, doğanın en güzel tonlarıyla karşılaşmak beni her zaman büyülüyor. Van Gölü, yemyeşil ağaçlar, meyveler ve yağmurla birlikte kendini gösteren muhteşem şimşekler arasında kaybolmak, huzurun ve mutluluğun en güzel hali. Burada her köşe, keşfedilmeyi bekleyen bir güzellik sunuyor. Bazen sadece durup etrafa bakmak, bu manzaraları yaşamak yeterli. Doğanın kucaklayıcılığı, Edremit’i adeta bir masal diyarına çeviriyor.
I took these two photos with my cousin. That day it rained magnificently and these wonderful landscapes followed one after the other. One of the most beautiful places in Van that I want you to see is of course Lake Van. And that lake looks amazing from here, doesn't it? I would like you to see it in the daytime. definitely add this place to your travel list.

I am in one of Edremit's gardens, one of its hidden paradises. This is my aunt's house. I stayed here for two nights. Here I am with my tea, my computer and my amazing view :)

A street full of beautiful examples of local architecture. The historical fabric of Edremit offers travelers the opportunity to discover the local culture. People sitting in the gardens of the houses, the sounds of cats and dogs, and trees full of fruit make this place even more lively.

Large green areas and tree-lined roads offer the opportunity to spend time in nature in Edremit. Spending pleasant moments with family and friends is quite easy here. You can enjoy nature while hiking or jogging. The richness and diversity of nature shows itself here. The green areas in Edremit are like a paradise waiting to be discovered. Taking a walk accompanied by the chirping of birds will feed your soul.
Geniş yeşil alanlar ve ağaçlı yolları, Edremit’te doğayla iç içe vakit geçirme imkanı sunuyor. Aile ve arkadaşlarla keyifli anlar geçirmek, burada oldukça kolay. Yürüyüş yaparken ya da koşarken, doğanın tadını çıkarabilirsiniz. Doğanın zenginliği ve çeşitliliği burada kendini gösteriyor. Edremit’teki yeşil alanlar, keşfedilmeyi bekleyen bir cennet gibi. One of the most beautiful memories of my time in Edremit is this magnificent view. The majesty of Edremit Castle and getting lost among the lush green trees refreshes my soul. Nature tells its own quiet story here; you only have to stop to listen. Discovering a new detail at every glance makes the beauty of this place even more special. Sometimes just one photo frame can reflect the whole emotion of the moment.
Edremit'te geçirdiğim anların en güzel hatıralarından biri bu muhteşem manzara. Edremit Kalesi'nin heybeti ve yemyeşil ağaçların arasında kaybolmak, adeta ruhumu yeniliyor. Doğa, burada kendi sessiz hikayesini anlatıyor; sadece dinlemek için durmak yeter. Her bakışta yeni bir ayrıntı keşfetmek, buranın güzelliklerini daha da özel kılıyor. Bazen sadece bir fotoğraf karesi, o anın tüm duygusunu yansıtabilir.
A sunset view. The beauty that Edremit has to offer adds to its natural charm. Watching the sunset while relieving the tiredness of the day turns into unforgettable memories.

The last image is an example of Edremit's natural beauty. Apricot trees. Apricots, apples, cherries and cherries are abundant in Edremit during this season. Even the excess apricots are dried. In winter, dried apricots are consumed with tea or cooked.
