Before the weekend, my roommate at the Rehabilitation Center told me that there is a very nice museum dedicated to local Swedes and offered to show it to me.

The museum is located quite close to our Center, so the walk was pleasant - we reached the end of the promenade and turned into the nearest street. A small yellow wooden house with a red roof at the end of the street is the Coastal Swedes Museum - Rannarootsi (Aibolands) Museum. It has existed since 1998, and was officially opened by the King and Queen of Sweden in 2002.

A separate room in the museum is dedicated to a 20-meter hand-embroidered rug depicting the history and way of life of the Estonian Swedes. Among others, there is a scene on it where Swedish peasant bought Large-Pakri Island from the Padise Monastery for 34 gold marks in 1345.
