An unavoidable place in Montenegro is the tourist metropolis Budva, a city that combines two types of lifestyle, ancient and modern, can not disappoint you with its beauty.
As we were on vacation in Montenegro, we decided to visit the old town of Budva.
Budva is one of the oldest inhabited cities on the Adriatic, and attracts a large number of tourists.
The old town or fortress was built on a small island not far from the coast, it was later connected to the mainland, so that today the fortress belongs to the coastal fortress.
This is also a historical treasure, which lies within the walls of the old town, which have often been restored due to bad weather. Today it is protected as a monument of antiquity.
We drove to Budva, the sun is slowly setting, and the attractive lights of the city entice us to visit it and observe the surroundings from the most beautiful point of the old town.
Night is slowly falling, and we enter the fortress, the fortress has five entrances, but you will be left on the narrow cobbled streets on either side.
The streets are narrow but full of tourists in the evening, the old town is surrounded by cafes, boutiques, souvenir shops and even houses where people still live today.
One of the attractions located next to the walls of the old town are a large church bell and anchor.
Budva attracts not only tourists but also various film directors, so some of the films about old times were made at this fortress, so these figures were brought to make the film, but they fit so well into the appearance of the old town that they still stand on the same places in gratitude.
The bell is golden in color decorated with silver motifs.
The anchor lying near the golden bell is right, so we all climbed on it and took photos.
In addition to the golden bell that never rang and serves as a decoration and a real iron anchor, attention is drawn to the former cannon, which is also found today as an attraction, and was once probably used to defend against enemies.
The old town is also rich in vegetation of various green,flowers and cacti.
The old town in Budva has a lot of architecture of Venetian origin, massive wooden gates, iron fences, but some things are also Roman style.
Down the stairs we descended, we reached the walls that surround the old town and offer a wonderful view of the surroundings of the surrounding places that glow at night.
You can spend a lot of time in this fortress, looking at the ancient walls of the past, drinking coffee in some of the restaurants, enjoying the panoramic views of the Adriatic Sea that stretches in front of the fortress.
On the lookout of these walls are often tourists who watch the beautiful sunsets or the night ambience of the surroundings, I can really say that the old town is worth visiting and see this historical splendor with your own eyes, they left us a nice impression and a new experience.
