So many surprises each day. So many reasons to thank the Heavens for the many blessings. One of those blessings is having such a lovely and wonderful mother who has become a best friend and a travel buddy at the same time.

We planned to see and learn more about the other side of Japan before the trip. So this time, we went to Wakayama. Tomogashima was originally on our list. I had read so much about the richness of its past, including the remnants of war and the fascinating architecture that survived the test of time.

When we arrived in Wakayama, we took the next train since we were unable to catch the earlier one. We wanted our trip to be leisurely and slow paced as possible since my Mom had been complaining already of slight pain on her lower extremities. Besides, we woke up a bit late that day and unfortunately, we missed the boat going to the island. The next trip would be at around 4PM which was a bit late. Instead, we went to a temple surrounded with so many Japanese dolls and figurines.

As we walk to the temple, we took some photos and had so much fun.

We kept walking and saw some houses in the village. There were so many turns that we almost got lost. We saw some European houses and even a lighthouse.

In the lighthouse, Tomogashima can be seen. We just waived our hands and said that we will be back sometime soon. We then, headed to the temple.

It was a great experience. It was something unique but a bit creepy since almost all of the dolls are looking straight back at me. We explored the area and found that there were also figurines scattered around. I also asked my Mom to take me some cute shots.

When we were done, we finally decided to go back to Wakayama and see the temple. On our way back to the train station, my Mom told me to take her another photo. She needed to smile and be happy, she added.

We entered the village and it was very peaceful. I did not see anybody walking around.

When we arrived in Wakayama, it was almost four in the afternoon. The sun was about to set and yes, it was the perfect time to take some pictures. The lighting is perfect and the wind blowing was cool.

There was a bamboo bridge beside the complex. We were curious about how it was preserved and how it looked. We were running out of battery and so we rushed on taking photos.

Before we left Wakayama, we took our dinner. We enjoyed it a lot despite the tiredness. It was really tasty and just the right amount of calories.

We left Wakayama with some hope that we will be back and be able to see Tomogashima. Wakayama is very charming. Despite some changes, still, we enjoyed and had so much fun.

Thank you so much for your time, kindness and patience in reading my adventures with my Mom. Until here and see you again in my next feature.
