Capturing the Spirit of the Great Himalayan Running Festival: A Photographer's Perspective

Hello hive family. Welcome to the blog. I hope you all are healthy.

Today I am going to share the memories of the Great Himalayan Running Festival event. It is about June 2023. I get a call from the race director. He says that you have to come to the race and bring your camera also. I am happy to hear this. I like to go to such events and the very next morning I leave for Manali by Narkanda bus. From Manali I booked a cab to Solang Valley from where the race was to start.
Solang Valley is a famous place, adventure lovers from all over the country and abroad come here to roam here.
I meet the race director, we have coffee and he gives me information about the race. I will provide the runners in the 480k category with hydration and everything they need. I'm still amazed at how someone can run 480k? This race takes place on the highest motorable road in the world. Running here takes a lot of courage. Only two runners are running in 480k.

The event people give me a cab and I also have hydration in it. There are two of us in the cab, the drive and me.
The race starts from Manali and ends in Leh which is 480k distance.

The race starts around 7 pm. Runners are running continuously. Even in the month of June, the temperature here goes below zero at night. I watch the sun rise from Rohtang Pass. Runners are still running. As soon as they cross the pass, the runners rest in the cab and after some time they start running again. The condition of both is very bad. When the runners reach Baralacha Pass, they quit after running a total of 275k. The cab drops them at the Leh finish line. I'm still amazed at how these two can run 275k consecutively.

During the race I took some pictures with my camera sony a57 and I edited them on Snapseed. I have also shared the pictures here on social media. It is possible that the participants of the running event may have also shared these pictures in their group.
