A Relaxing Time at Skip's Beach Resort I Agujo, Daanbantayan, Cebu

Hello dear Hivers! I hope you're all well and healthy on this wonderful day!

As you may know, staying in Daanbantayan, Cebu for about 3 days to participate and join the Division Festival of Talents (DFOT) was a perfect opportunity for me to explore and enjoy the beauty of the place!

Located at the northernmost part of Cebu province, Daanbantayan is home of those most visited places and attractions . The Malapascua Island is just one of those most popular destinations found in Daanbantayan that has attracted a lot of local and international tourists. But I'm not going to share about Malapascua Island today. Instead, I'm going to share about this somewhat secluded place in Agujo, Daanbantayan, Cebu that I discovered upon coming to Daanbantayan to join the competition.

Here comes Sunday -the day of the Oratorical Composition and Presentation! After my student's performance, we had to leave the contest venue to give way to the second batch of participants to show their composition writing and speaking prowess!

As it was about noon and our billeting quarter was quite far from the venue, we had to find a place to relax and be away from the tension and anxiety that dominates the contest area. (When you coach a student in a competition, it's not only the student who actually feels nervous, but the coach , too!lol)

Surfing the net for a beach resort quite near to Agujo Elementary School- the contest venue, I found this somewhat secluded but a suitable place to kill the time. I'm talking about Skip's Beach Resort located at Agujo, Daanbantayan, Cebu.

And this is the content of today's blog. A Relaxing Time at Skip's Beach Resort, Agujo, Daanbantayan, Cebu.

The Map of Mainland Daanbantayan

This map is painted at the wall of this structure just past the entrance of the resort.

How to Get There

  1. By car or bus. The resort is about a 3 hour-drive from Cebu City. Just follow the barangay road across the Cebu Technological University (CTU). Or navigate Waze or Google Map to reach to the place on time.

  2. By tricycle. From Daanbantayan proper, travel for about 5-6 minutes towards the resort just past Agujo Elementary School. It is about a minute or two from the next corner on the left.

The Entrance

Taking the path towards the resort, this lush growth of shrubs, plants and trees welcome you to the place -still wet as we passed by due to the heavy downpour in the morning.

The Green Scenery

I have always loved nature and this scenery helps me relax and reconnect with nature! The green surroundings and the fresh oxygen that these trees and plants transpire are more than enough to calm your spirit.

The Reception

We didn't plan to stay in a cottage coming here as we just wanted to get some fresh air and relax. We just paid the entrance fee of ₱20.00 ($0.36) per person and were allowed entrance to the place.

This reception area displays various bottles of wine and beverages that add beauty and class to the place.

When we arrived, a group of young locals seemed to have been doing their group study at the place laying a laptop on the fine wooden table while discussing about something. (was not eavesdropping but I happened to overhear their topic while paying our entrance fee.-chuckles).

Around the Resort

Before reaching the building where the reception is, you can see this very wide and spacious area perfect for special occasions or team building activities.

The Cottages

In this spot are two open cottages for guests who wish to stay and enjoy swimming at the sea. Hearing from the receptionist, these cottages cost ₱500.00 ($8.93) rental fee.

Another native cottage is standing at the other side with two wooden swings to sit and play on.

Since we didn't pay for a cottage, we just managed to standby here and rest as it is much cooler under the shade of the Talisay and Coconut Trees.

If you also plan to stay overnight with friends and family, you may opt to take this native bungalow. (My bad I was not able ask how much is a night here as I was here to breathe fresh air and find comfort in the sea.)

More rooms are also available in this area.

The Ocean View

This place is perfect and cool in the morning as it is hidden from the bright rays of the sun.

But the floating boats, the blue sky and the charming sea are a beautiful sight to behold in this perspective.

The restaurant or terrace where you can dine in and get an ocean view from early morning to dusk.

If you wish to enjoy the sea, you won't regret coming here!

The Beach

This side of the shore is perfect to do beach frisbee and other beach fun games or activities. The sand is fine and white and walking here on barefoot will surely bring a soothing and relaxing experience!

After a while, this group of young men arrived bringing with them a sack and started cleaning the shore.

I'm not sure whether they're hired privately by the owner of this lot by the shore or by the local government but I know now why the long white shoreline looks clean and unspoiled!

These silent boats are lined up in this side of the shore that make this area more alive. I just love this sight!

The lovely picture of the shore was complimented by the sight of these innocent children enjoying playing with the fine sand as the tide went low.

Yani, my little buddy, won't let this chance pass, too without soaking her little feet on the soft sand.

According to a quote, "The beach is not just a destination, it's a state of mind. It is a place where doing absolutely nothing is doing something"-thepioneerwoman.com.

Killing the time at this beach is, indeed, not a waste but a perfect time to de-stress, recharge and enliven my heart and mind. Like other famous titles of some television series or movies, I should say I left my heart at the beach!😍

And this is all for today's blog dear Hivers. Thank you for reaching this far reading this blog. See you again in my upcoming blogs. Until next time......
