If you are looking for a relaxing walk among vineyards and combine it with some nice wine tasting – the »Trail of wine Teran« near small town of Dutovlje in western Slovenia is the right choice. “Teran” is dark, red wine produced in western part of Slovenia (in the Slovenian Karst).
The trail starts in the heart of the town and continues as an easy walk through the woods, vineyards, and meadows.
You will not only relax in the unspoiled nature, but also learn about the history, architecture, and the culture of the region (there are informative sign board all along the trail).
While walking on the path you will cross many remains of the old Austro-Hungarian railway.
Just few steps of the beaten path you will find an Austro – Hungarian cemetery from the WW1 (between 1915-1917).
One of the most iconic symbols of the Karts region is for sure the stone, which is predominant in all traditional architecture.
