My Short Stay in Medellin, Cebu

Hello, my dear Hivers! Here I am again for another blog. How have you all been? I hope you all had the best weekends and are energy-ready to tackle the weekday juggles. Anyway, the blog that I am going to share today is my quick trip to the Northern part of Cebu—Medellin. Should we get started?

Our primary reason for coming here was to visit a relative. It's been years since we got to see him, so this is really the perfect time for us.

Let the journey begin...
We came super early at Cebu North Bus Terminal. When we boarded the bus, we were the only passengers. Thus, we have to wait for more passengers before we can finally depart.

After an almost 4 hour land trip, we finally arrived. It was already dark around the street and as much as I wanted to take more photos, darkness consumed the quality of the camera. Anyhow, everything was very fulfilling since we were greeted with all the warm welcome of our relatives. Look how happy they are when they are all together.

The next day, I was greeted with this beautiful sunrise. I would say, it's such a wonderful experience to behold this morning view. I only saw these from my fb friends' posts but now, it feels surreal to finally witness it on my own.

I was my cousin's official photographer for this time.

Of course, our short province visit wouldn't be complete without visiting some beautiful places in Medellin, Cebu. First on our list is the Aisle of Medellin. For context, Aisle of Medellin is a 4- lane 7.5 km highway from Barangay Dayhagon to Curva at the heart of the sugarcane fields. So, it's really a perfect place for morning jog and even a perfect spot to take Instagrammable photos.

Bamboo Forest is also one of the must visit tourist attractions in Medellin. It is specifically located at Brgy. Luy-a, Medellin. When we arrived at the place, it seemed really quiet. It turned out, we were early birds and their first tourists for the day. Some of their other offerings have not opened yet. Still, we continued our way and explored the beauty of it. The bamboo was so relaxing and they also have special corners for you to take Instagram photos. There's a little fishpond, bamboo swing, nice benches, the option to rent kimono and Filipino costumes, souvenir shop and even a prayer garden. The place was so refreshing to the eyes, I wish I could stay longer... I only wish to be back very soon.

After Bamboo Forest, me and my cousin decided to have our short visit at Medellin Dockside. Luck is on our side too because the place was not jam-packed with people. The place was really nice, perfect for a morning jog and a relaxing stroll. I also love the presence of mangroves here and the overlooking view of the sea. During night time, they also had lots of fun in this place since fiesta is fast approaching.

Our adventure did not stop...In the late afternoon, we had this spur of the moment decision to go to Yurag Beach Resort which is located in Kawit, Medellin. It was just a minute away from our barangay so we gave it a go. The moment I entered the place, I was super amazed! I fell in love with the white sand, blue water and most importantly, the awesome locals & beach goers. Sadly, I didn't have the chance to dip in the sea water (only my cousin). As always, I'm her official photographer/videographer. I would love to be back at this beach resort very soon.

And with that .....Our short stay in Medellin has come to an end. I would say even if it's just a short period, the experiences and memories I had made a huge difference. I'm overly ecstatic to finally visit my relatives and get to explore some of Medellin's gems. This is truly one for the books, I can't wait to be back!

That's what I've got for today my dear Hivers! I hope you enjoyed reading my blog. Until next time!
