We spent the last 4 days before the cruise in Petit Macabou in Martinique at Ali's. We rented the apartment via AirBnB and it cost us 15 euros per night for 2 people. What we saw pleasantly surprised us.
Dom Alego
The house is about a kilometer from the beautiful beaches of Macabou. There are no buildings nearby, which is why this place is the quintessence of peace and idyllic life. If I would like to add that Ali is a Rastafarian and he likes weed, I would say he did not part with him, which is why the peace in this place intensified even more. Ali built his house on his own, in very difficult terrain, almost in solid rock.
The window in our bedroom basically no window 🙂
Okno w naszej sypialni w zasadzie brak okna 🙂
Ali's kitchen
Kuchnia u Alego
Ali's house is an open house. There are two kitchens, one inside and the other connected to the outside dining area on the terrace at the same time. There is a large table, a hammock and three lovely dogs.
Dom Alego to dom otwarty.
Ali invited us to dinner he made a dish called Aqua. These are hot peppers in batter which are quite tasty. Of course, he did not part with his joint 😉
To ostre papryczki w cieście całkiem smaczne.
Psy Alego
Ali has three funny dogs. All mild-tempered but jealous. When you pet one, two more would appear immediately.
Ali ma trzy pocieszne psy. Wszystkie łagodnie usposobione, ale zazdrosne. Gdy pogłaskasz jednego, zaraz pojawiały się dwa kolejne.
Ali's ecological garden
Ekologiczny ogród Alego
Ali has a beautiful garden with vegetables, fruit trees.
He has lime trees, pomegranates in the garden, even cocoa trees. The garden is 100% ecological.
There is a donkey in the garden. We asked Ali what he needed a donkey for? The case turned out to be prosaic, the donkey is a producer of natural fertilizer. As I mentioned, it's a fully ecological garden, no chemicals, so the only fertilizer is donkey droppings.
Jungle tea
Herbata z dżungli
This part of Martinique is still a jungle from which you can get various plants and herbs. Ali made us a brilliant tea made of herbs obtained from the jungle.
Ta część Martyniki to jeszcze dżungla, z której można pozyskiwać różne rośliny i zioła. Ali przyrządził nam genialną herbatę z ziół pozyskanych właśnie z dżungli.
Saffron for the poor
Szafran dla ubogich
He also brought a plant used as a spice to make empanados. This plant is Achiote. This plant stains intensely red and is added to beef - stuffing for empanados. It is also called saffron for the poor.
Ta roślina to Achiote. Roślina ta intensywnie barwi na czerwono, i jest dodawana do mięsa wołowego - farszu do empanados. Nazywana jest również szafranem dla ubogich.
Beaches on the Petit Macabou
Plaże w Petit Macabou
There are beautiful beaches in Petit Macabou. Empty, without crowds of people, they are raw and natural. There is something for everyone because they are sandy and rocky.
