Greetings dear friends of Hive! I am here to share with you a new adventure, I have decided to take you to know my hometown through my bicycle rides. Since the two wheels have become my means of transportation, now I want to show you the beautiful things my city has to offer, since the bike is considered one of the best ways to get to know a city. ¡Saludos queridos amigos de Hive! Me encuentro por acá para compartirles una nueva aventura, y es que he decidido llevarles a conocer mi ciudad natal a través de mis paseos en bicicleta. Ya que que las dos ruedas se han convertido en mi medio de transporte, ahora quiero enseñarles lo bonito que tiene mi ciudad para ofrecer, ya que la bici es considerada uno de los mejores medios para conocer una ciudad. This beautiful monument is located in the heart of the garden city and is inspired by the Plaza de Toros de la Real Maestranza de Caballería de Sevilla (Seville Bullring), was designed by Carlos Raúl Villanueva, who is also the designer of works such as the Aula Magna, the Olympic Stadium and the Museum of Natural Sciences, among others.
Este hermoso monumento se encuentra en pleno corazón de la ciudad jardín y está inspirada en la Plaza de Toros de la Real Maestranza de Caballería de Sevilla, fue diseñada por Carlos Raúl Villanueva, quien es también el diseñador de obras como el Aula Magna, el Estadio Olímpico y el Museo de Ciencias Naturales, entre otros.
It was inaugurated in 1933 by the president of that time, the dictator Juan Vicente Gómez, and was the first one in Venezuela and later declared a National Historic Monument on April 15, 1994. It was named in honor of the famous Venezuelan bullfighter Cesar Giron.
Fue inaugurada en el año 1933 por el presidente de ese entonces, el dictador Juan Vicente Gómez y fue la primera de Venezuela y posteriormente fue declarada Monumento Histórico Nacional el 15 de abril de 1994. Lleva ese nombre en honor al famoso torero venezolano Cesar Girón.
I remember that when I was a child the Maestranza was always active in the anniversary of the city, there were different activities, the most significant being the bullfights, I must say that I have never liked this activity and I have not gone to any, but I have had the opportunity to attend the Maestranza to musical events and other activities.
Recuerdo que de pequeña la Maestranza siempre estaba activa en el aniversario de la ciudad, se hacían diferentes actividades, siendo la más significativa las corridas de toros, debo decir que esta actividad nunca me ha gustado y no he ido a ninguna, pero si he tenido la oportunidad de asistir a la Maestranza a actividades musicales y de otra índole.
In the surroundings of the Maestranza you get many benches and there are many trees, which makes it ideal to spend a pleasant time or rest from a long walk.
En los alrededores de la Maestranza se consiguen muchos bancos y hay muchos árboles, lo que la hace ideal para pasar un rato agradable o descansar de una gran caminata.
It is a sculpture that is located outside the Maestranza, in honor of Cesar Giron, who is performing a circular pass in front of the sculpture of a wounded bull named Presumido (Snooty). One of the most beautiful memories of my childhood is listening to my dad telling me the name of the bull, telling me that it was a very difficult bull to tame and that Giron had done it with such ease, that his feat had prevailed over the years.
Es una escultura que se encuentra en el exterior de la Maestranza, en honor a Cesar Girón, quien se encuentra realizando un pase circular frente a la escultura de un toro herido llamado Presumido. Uno de los recuerdos más bonitos de mi niñez es escuchar a mi papá contándome el nombre del Toro, diciéndome que era un toro muy difícil de domar y que Girón lo había hecho con tal facilidad, que su hazaña había prevalecido a lo largo de los años.
Much later, reading about this story, I was also able to learn that the sculptor had decided to call the bull this name because of how well-endowed the bull's features were in every way.
Mucho tiempo después leyendo sobre esta historia, pude aprender también que el escultor había decidido llamar así al toro por lo bien dotadas que estaban las características del toro en todos los sentidos.
The Maestranza is an important architectural work for the people of Maracay, which must always be in constant remodeling to preserve it. On my tour I could not enter the inside of it because it was not allowed. If you are from Maracay or you are visiting the city, I recommend you to visit it, you will have a good time.
La Maestranza es una obra arquitectónica importante para los maracayeros, que siempre debe estar en constante remodelación para preservarla. En mi paseo no pude entrar al interior de la misma pues no estaba permitido. Si eres de Maracay o estás de visita por la ciudad, te recomiendo que no dejes de visitarla, pasarás un buen rato.
