A week ago I wrote a post about the Winter Walk in Veliko Tarnovo, which I sent to my friend Daniel. He liked it very much and promised me that this weekend he would come to visit me and we would walk the streets of the city together.
So he did it - Yesterday morning my friend came in my home town.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, all restaurants and bars are closed and the walk is the only opportunity to see a friend. The weather was perfect - warm and no wind.
This is our first (and actually only photo) with him.
The first thing when he came was to find a parking space.
This city is not that big, but there is no "zone" over the weekend, so almost everywhere in the center is full.
When we found the perfect parking lot, we went for a short walk in the old part of town.
In fact, I can say that I saw a lot of tourists these days.
Most of them were from Romania. This is not very surprising, because the capital of Romania is close - about 3-4 hours by car.
The famous panorama view from Veliko Tarnovo. As I like to say, this is the most beautiful city in our country.
This is the famous street Gurko, where you can usually visit the traditional taverns, but now they do not work...
This street is very beautiful! Art people will definitely like it.
In the old part of town you can see buildings and houses built in 1769!
Yes, you read the year correctly! Take a closer look:
Of course, they are currently being renovated.
Only in Bulgaria you can see graffiti on such an old house!
Tsarevets Castle, which is the most famous tourist attraction in the city, can be seen almost everywhere.
Daniel liked it very much. In this photo he is NOT posing! lol
Not to mention I showed him some old art walls.
After an exceptional walk, we went to my place to drink coffee.
Then it was dark and my friend had to go back to Sofia in his unique Mercedes.
That's how I spent my Saturday :)
