Hot Water Beach, Coromandel - Let's dig your own hot pool

Hot Water Beach, I hope that if you have ever been in New Zealand, you did visit this beach once 😊. This is one of the most special beaches I have ever known, where you will have your own spa pool in the sand with a great open view to the Pacific Ocean.

As its name suggests "Hot water beach", the water in the pools dug in the sand on this beach can be as hot as 70 degrees Celsius. It is explained as an underground river of hot water flows from the interior of the earth to surface in the Pacific Ocean at Hot Water Beach.

Coromandel Penisula is just about 2 hours and a half driving from Auckland city. This handy spot with many spectacular attractions was my favorite place when I lived in Auckland. If you want to visit Hot Water Beach and enjoy fun digging activities there, you must check the time for low tide, there will be two hours for each side of the low tide every day.

Summertime is the best time to visit Hot Water Beach as the daytime is longer and you could probably enjoy both low tides. It will be so much fun there and don't forget to bring a shovel or you might disappoint yourself, but who knows, you may find a left pool from earlier visitors :)

I had learned from others the way to find the best spot to dig a pool there is to stand on the sand and let the waves crash your feet deep in the sand, if your feet can feel the heat then that's the perfect one.

Hot Water Beach is a very special Kiwi experience for me. And trust me, you must put it on your travel list if you plan to visit New Zealand.

Thank you so much for reading my post!
