Hallo liebe Hiver,
heute ein kleiner Bericht über meinen kurzen Ausflug über die Grenze nach Frankreich in den schönen Ort Bitche im Elsass nur 10 Kilometer hinter der Grenze. Das Highlight des kleinen Ortes ist die Zitadelle im Ortszentrum auf einem Hügel gelegen. Eine stattliche Festung mit kleiner Kapelle, die im ersten Weltkrieg Teil der Maginot Linie war und die ganze Region sichern sollte. Von jeder Stelle im Ort zu sehen und wirklich imposant. Ansonsten alden die kleinen gassen des Ortes zum Spazierengehen ein und es gibt viele kleine Ladengeschäfte in die man rein schnuppern kann. Auch ein gutes Mittagessen haben wir uns natürlich nicht entgehen lassen. Zufälligerweise war hier auch gerade die Saarland Trofeo zu Gast, ein Radrennen der besten europäischen Jungprofis, die mehrmals durch den Ort gebraust sind. Ein schöner Tag bei bestem Wetter, der mir lange in Erinnerung bleiben wird.

Hello dear Hiver,
today a short report about my short trip across the border to France to the beautiful town of Bitche in Alsace just 10 kilometers over the border. The highlight of the small town is the citadel in the center of town located on a hill. A stately fortress with a small chapel, it was part of the Maginot Line in WWI and was supposed to secure the whole region. It can be seen from every point in the village and is really imposing. Otherwise, the small streets of the village invite you to walk and there are many small stores in which you can take a look. Also a good lunch we have not missed of course. Coincidentally, the Saarland Trofeo, a cycling race of the best European young professionals, who have raced several times through the town. A beautiful day with best weather, which will remain in my memory for a long time.
