Hallo liebe Community,
nun ist die Katze aus dem Sack. Die letzten beiden Wochen war ich auf Roadtrip durch die USA. Wir haben eine Reise von San Francisco über den Yosemite Nationalpark über den Highway Nr. 1 nach Los Angeles gemacht. Eine unglaubliche Reise, die ich nie vergessen werde. An der Ostküste waren wir schon öfter aber noch nie an der Westküste. und ich muss sagen, wir wurden nicht enttäuscht!
Heute erstmal ein paar Generelle Einblicke zu unserer ersten Station San Francisco. Für die Sehenswürdigkeiten wie Alcatraz, Coit Tower, Golden Gate Bridge usw. werde ich separate Posts machen, da diese einfach zu umfangreich sind.
Nach 16 Stunden Anreise mit Umsteigen in Dallas mit der American Airlines ( Flüge pro Person 400 €! ) hat uns der Jetlag voll erwischt und wir waren insgesamt 36 Stunden wach. Hat ein paar tage gedauert wieder in die Spur zu kommen, pünktlich um 3:00 Uhr nachts waren wir immer wach :-)
Am ersten Tag hat es das einzige mal im Urlaub leichten Nieselregen gegeben und es war auch recht frisch. Das war es aber an der Küste immer, so dass wir immer mit Jacke in den Tag starteten und diese dann in der Mittagshitze ablegen konnten. Über 25 grad waren es aber nie, genau richtig für unsere Stadterkundungen.
San Francisco ist schon eine tolle Stadt. Durch die ganzen Hügel wirkt die Stadt auch richtig entzerrt und nicht wie einen übliche Großstadt. Alles war sehr ruhig und entschleunigt und die Menschen sehr entspannt. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Unser Hotel die Travel Lodge lag sehr zentral und so konnten wir von hier unsere Besichtigungen starten. Am ersten tag haben wir uns erstmal einen Überblick verschafft und waren Downtown, am Giradelli Center, an der Uferpromenade und natürlich zu unserem ersten Frühstück im amerikanischen Diner. Insgesamt waren wir 23.000 Schritte an diesem Tag unterwegs und am Abend, sagen wir mal, etwas ausgelaugt. Aber es war ein toller Auftakt für die nächsten beiden Wochen und wir gingen mit viel Vorfreude ins Bett!

now the cat is out of the bag. The last two weeks I was on a road trip through the USA. We made a trip from San Francisco over the Yosemite National Park via Highway No. 1 to Los Angeles. An incredible trip that I will never forget. We've been to the east coast before but never to the west coast and I have to say we were not disappointed!
Today I want to give you some general insights about our first stop San Francisco. For the sights like Alcatraz, Coit Tower, Golden Gate Bridge etc. I will make separate posts, because they are just too extensive.
After 16 hours journey with change in Dallas with the American Airlines ( flights per person 400 €! ) has caught us the jet lag full and we were awake a total of 36 hours. It took a few days to get back on track, we were always awake at 3:00 am :-)
On the first day there was the only time in the vacation light drizzle and it was also quite fresh. But that was always on the coast, so we always started the day with a jacket and then could take it off in the midday heat. But it was never over 25 degrees, just right for our city explorations.
San Francisco is a great city. Through all the hills, the city also seems really equalized and not like a usual big city. Everything was very quiet and decelerated and the people very relaxed. We felt very comfortable. Our hotel, the Travel Lodge, was very centrally located and so we could start our sightseeing from here. On the first day we first got an overview and were downtown, at the Giradelli Center, on the waterfront and of course for our first breakfast in the American diner. In total we walked 23,000 steps that day and in the evening we were, let's say, a bit exhausted. But it was a great start to the next two weeks and we went to bed with much anticipation!
