This weather is going to travel or a picnic with summer friends, family is great. But unfortunately, that's just a thought, I'm still quite busy with my daily work. Just have to wait until the weekend, hopefully, the weather will still be nice by then. Have you ever scrolled through social media or travel articles and found a place you wish you could visit once? I used to be like that too. Once, when I saw a picture of a palm tree with a heart on a social network in Tri Ton, An Giang, I wished I could check in there once. Fortunately, during a business trip to An Giang, I was able to take advantage of it. So feel free to wish for something, at some point your wish will come true.
Today's place name I want to introduce to you is An Giang province - where I have shared in the previous post. Tri Ton is a mountainous district of An Giang province, where the area is quite large but the population is very small. Because it is a mountainous area, Tri Ton has a wild beauty and is very peaceful. Tri Ton has located about 60km from Long Xuyen city and adjacent to Kien Giang province. To go to Tri Ton, you can easily go from Kien Giang or Long Xuyen city by road, the way to here is also quite convenient. Although there are many tourist attractions in Tri Ton, my purpose this time to Tri Ton is to see the heart-shaped palm trees and enjoy the famous Chuc O Thum leaf-burning chicken. Palm jaggery is a very popular plant in An Giang, you can find jaggery anywhere in An Giang. It has a coconut tree-like trunk and palm-like leaves, and the mature trunk is very large and tall. The tree has edible fruit and delicious drinking water. The nectar of flowers can be processed into jaggery used in daily dishes. The heart palm tree in Tri Ton is famous because there is a row of jaggery trees with 7 trees planted close together in the middle of the field. When viewed from afar, the foliage of 7 trees forms a very romantic heart shape in the middle of the field. The heart can be whole or split depending on your viewing angle. The heart is naturally shaped without human hands, so this is an impressive point that attracts people. This is a place that quite attracts couples to check-in. The way to this place is also quite easy, you just need to look upon Google Maps the keyword "Thốt nốt trái tim" and it will direct you to the place. Near this place, there are also small shops for you to rest, drink water and eat some local specialties such as burning chicken, beef seven mountains. If you go with your lover, there is nothing more romantic than sitting in the middle of the field, enjoying some delicious food, breathing the fresh air, and watching the heart-shaped from the palm tree. Because this place is located in the middle of the field, every season will have its beauty. So don't hesitate to visit this place at any time of the year.
In addition to visiting the heart palm tree when coming to Tri Ton, I also have the opportunity to visit Ta Pa pagoda and Ta Pa lake. Along the way, you can see many temples in Tri Ton with Khmer architecture and you can visit any temple you like along the way. Particularly in Tri Ton, there is a quite famous temple, Ta Pa Pagoda, built on high, surrounded by mountains and fields. The temple is quite prominent with the yellow color and pagoda architecture of the Khmer people. Standing on the temple grounds, you can observe the vast field. The temple grounds are also quite large for you to freely visit. Ta Pa Pagoda is a place you should visit when coming to Tri Ton.
Ta Pa lake is a place located close to Ta Pa Pagoda, so you can visit here after visiting the temple. Ta Pa lake is a lake created by the quarrying process. The lake is not wide, located among the rocks formed by the long-standing stone mining process, there are also many trees around to create shade, the lake water has a clear jade green color and is very cool. Standing on the shore, you can see the bottom of the lake and the sky reflecting on the lake. This is not a tourist attraction, so you can come here freely. Just a small lake, but here attracts many young people to check in or take wedding photos. If you have the opportunity, you should visit here to feel its beauty.
In addition to great tourist destinations, Tri Ton's open cuisine is also an attraction for me when coming here. I know about the Chicken Burnt Chuc leaves of O Thum region through a Youtube channel about tourism, and also wished that I would enjoy this dish once. Chicken is a quite popular dish in many parts of the world, but each place has a different way of preparing it to create its own characteristic. Burnt chicken is sold a lot in Tri Ton, but the most famous dish is still the burnt chicken dish of O Thum region. There are many shops selling this specialty in the O Thum lake area. Coming here, you will enjoy burning chicken at lakeside restaurants, enjoy the cool air and enjoy a delicious food. When you first hear the name of the dish, you may think that this dish is made by baking method, but it is not. People will line the bottom of the pot with a layer of lemongrass, then place the marinated chicken with a few new garlic cloves and Chuc leaves on top of the lemongrass layer, the bottom of the pot will be filled with lemongrass. Cook the pot on the stove for about 40 minutes. When cooking, the pot is covered with air, so the heat of the oil will cook the chicken and give it a very attractive golden brown color. The typical flavor of the chicken dish is the Chuc leaf. Chuc is a tree of the same species as a typical live lemon or orange in An Giang, with small, rough fruits and leaves with a characteristic aroma. It is the aroma of Chuc leaves mixed with other spices that create the characteristic flavor of chicken. The chicken after processing has an attractive golden brown color, the skin is crispy, the meat is tough and not dry. Although cooking uses a lot of oil, the chicken is not fatty. I have eaten chicken prepared in many different ways but really the chicken here has a very special taste that I have never enjoyed. Chicken is served with salad and rice, so 1 chicken is comfortable for 3 to 4 people. I will definitely apply this recipe to make chicken when I get home.
