Driving through the ❄️ CAIRNGORMS national park 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 - PART 4 of 6 ~ “ROAD TRIP NORTH - 120 km further” let’s move countries 📦🚛✈️

Hi all 👋🏻

With this post in our #community I will show you our FOURTH PART of our long #Journey of moving countries a different way. 😎 Do read to the end as you see some cute things there 🥰😉

I know I know… I promised to update you sooner 😇 but believe me once we crossed the Cairngorms I had no mobile reception 📡 anymore (still a Spanish number 🤐) and the Wi-Fi/ internet was almost non existent in the next 2 holiday accommodations. The little bit I could do was just enough to write a few comments, my community comment moderation, voting your posts… just uploading a photo was NOT possible. So I am sorry for that.
I had to wait… until today. 😎 I sooooo badly wanted to show you more sooner.

I have at the moment a very…. And I mean a VERY bad wifi connection. I am as we speak working on a long term better internet connection 🤓 so I can engage like you are used to from me 🤓 So please bear with me a little bit longer… updates are on their way, it takes me forever to upload photos at the moment. Hahahaha 🤣 Luckily I am patient… for 3 photos to upload, I have cooked dinner…
I don’t want to publish a post without them 🥰

Back to my story now:
We started our next trip in DRUMOAK, Aberdeenshire in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 and we drove about 120 km / 75 Miles further WEST this time. We stopped for some “sightseeing” along the way (read here…. Jackie had to take photos with the Canon 📸 of everything 🤣😂) and the necessary food and drink stops. ☕️🥪🥗

We reached GRANTOWN ON SPEY in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 this part of our trip.

We were staying there again 3 nights and this ended on 14 January when we traveled further… much further again hehehe 🤭
I will show you the next trip soon as I am working on getting decent internet as we speak 😉😁 so stay tuned for the last parts in the following days. Internet and weather permitting!

Yep weather permitting too, I landed at the moment in a ❄️ WINTER WONDERLAND ❄️ literally… it’s white everywhere. 15 cm of snow when I arrived and it is building up to more. Yesterday I measured in some places 30 cm.
Of course I have built a snowman ☃️ I will show you some photos soon 🥰😉 but I won’t tell you more than that right now 😁

The 67 photographs in this post are all taken with my #iPhone 🤓 11 and 12 January 2023 📱and I will follow the time stamps so it looks like you are coming along with me on my #journey further and see what I saw… 😎

Some of you already know what I was doing during the last weeks… since 19 December 2022, if you missed it;
We are moving countries.
We left Spain 🇪🇸 see this post: ✈️ Our flight out of Spain 🇪🇸 ~ 📦🚛✈️
I made an update in this post: Update, Things are not always going as planned ~ “Market Friday in Stamford UK” 📦🚛✈️
We started our next adventures on 5 January 2023, our journey towards our final destination after we visited the in-laws and friends in England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 for the holidays.

Part 1 of my adventures you find here: PART 1 of 6 ~ “ROAD TRIP NORTH - 305 km” 📦🚛✈️
Part 2 of my adventures you find here:
PART 2 of 6 ~ “ROAD TRIP NORTH - 304 km” Visit to the KELPIES close to Falkirk 📦🚛✈️
Part 3 of my adventures you find here: 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Dunnottar Castle, Stonehaven 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 - PART 3 of 6 ~ “ROAD TRIP NORTH - 200 more km” 📦🚛✈️

I counted the DISTANCE traveled together until GRANTOWN ON SPEY.
Last total was 2852 km/ 1771.8 Miles.

🚗✈️🚗✈️🚗 So we have traveled now 2972 km/ 1846.7 Miles and we are not done yet 😎 let’s travel a bit further…. 🚗✈️🚗✈️🚗

Will we continue over the road? Or do we get on a boat… or a plane again…. I won’t tell you yet, you have to wait and find out just a little bit later 😉😎 very soon you will know where I ended up 🗺 (don’t tell if you know 😉)

Let me hold you not longer in suspense and show you now PART 4 of our journey from 11 January 2023 😉 IT WAS EPIC! I MUST SAY…

We took the following route west with a stop for lunch and some smaller country back roads along the way.

Did you think I would go to that direction next? 😎

We loaded up the car again with all the suitcases 🧳 and we started driving after checking out in the late morning. The skies were clear and a lovely day has started. We are so lucky so far with the weather.

When we reached Banchory we stopped for some lunch and a cappuccino 🥰

The views from the restaurant.

After lunch we drove through the town of Banchory.

It’s church.

Outside of the town we see beautiful green fields and forests in the distance. 🌳🌳🌳🌳🌲🌲🌲🌲

I love the greens as you have read in my last part of this journey 😊

Most of the roads are good, some will go into very small bumpy roads 😉🤣

Along a wide river… RIVER DEE

Passing a cemetery we see the church ruins. KINCARDINE O’NEIL.

Suddenly I see a lighthouse… a small one and more like a decoration, but still cool to find this along the road 😎 far away from the sea.

The next view took my breath away, luckily I was fast enough to capture this beauty 🥰 (Aboyne)

In the distance I discover the first mountain with snow ❄️ Do you see it? 🏔That’s the way we are heading….

Some stunning crofts /farmhouses… along the way. What a stunning location.

WE ENTERED THE CAIRNGORMS… it’s a national park 🥰🌳🌲 This was a photo taken in the full sun, of it’s park sign, sorry about that… sometimes you can’t change a moment and angle 🤓

The sun is slowly going down, at 14:51h you notice already.

I see this white footbridge around Ballatar.

Look at those mountains in the distance 🥰

Ballater church and town’s view. (I’m not the only one taking pictures)

Leaving this town we go along some SMALL back roads further.

First signs of ICE ❄️❄️❄️ along the roads…

More snowy mountains in the distance, what a pretty sight… don’t you think? 😊🏔

We are driving the old military road now through the Cairngorms.
More information about this park you can find here: In their own website: CAIRNGORMS

Waiting to cross a very small bridge…

Red, orange and green is go… 🚗🚗

And up we go…. Only one car fits.

On the other side we see the roadworks, they are redoing the surface and sides of the road.

Just after the roadworks and around a corner I see pheasants… and a lot of them. CAN YOU COUNT 10 OF THEM? 😁 (yes, I know the photo isn’t great quality… but search for their white necks and brown body… it will help) 😎

Driving further more epic views…

Those poles along the road are markers, so you know… when the snow is high, where the road is and what side of the road you are driving.

And finally… we reached more snow ❄️

At a place were we could park, I jumped out… just had to put my hand in the snow ❄️

It was rather frozen on the top, so I couldn’t make a dent in the surface… but still… needed to capture this moment 😉🥰❄️

The first photo/ thumbnail is also taken in this location… outside of the car with the phone though. I took many more with my Camera, but uploading those is a no go right now 🧐

So enjoy my phone photos further… looking around at this epic location 😊

The road ahead…

After I jump right back in the car… let’s drive further 😎

Snowy mountains 🏔

Beautiful #clouds ☁️☁️☁️

Out of the window I capture this #cloud a few more times…

Forests we go through 🌳🌳🌳🌲🌲🌲

Following route signs… we go left here 😉

Of course we see more sheep 🐑 🐑 🐑 🐑

More epic locations…

Grantown on Spey 25 more miles… almost 😉

Going over more mountains… the wind is picking up this day… see the vane 🌬

Great view… and you see the vane better.

The road takes us higher and higher up 🏔🏔🏔

Suddenly we reach a ski area. ⛷🏂⛷🏂

Some skiers ⛷ go down…

It’s the Lecht Ski Centre.

And we go down again too… a few 10% down hills are coming right up. Luckily the roads are good.

Look at these views 🥰

Stunning…

Some abandoned houses and bothys around us.

In front of us is a dark sky location… here is no light pollution to observe the sky 🌌

Driving further… it’s almost 1600h now.
Location is around Ballindalloch - Tomintoul.

Grantown on Spey 12 miles left… are you still with me? Hope so, as I have something cute to show you at the end 🥰 so do read further… 😉

Around another corner… I SEE: WELCOME TO THE HIGHLANDS we officially reached this next part of SCOTLAND 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Look at this view… like driving right up in the clouds ☁️ 😎

The scenery is changing… do you see?

A little bit longer…. Before it gets completely dark…

We reached this cottage on the edge of a forest 🌳
The lounge:

The kitchen area:

It’s cold so the first thing I do is light a fire 🔥 😎

The next morning when I wake up, I can finally see the view outside.

We can walk right into the forest and onto some trails. What we have done in the following days of course. Posts will follow about my walks here.

In the late morning some red squirrels came to visit 🥰 the boards are frozen if you look closely under the seats…

How cute are they 🥰😊 yep every morning birds and squirrels said hi 👋🏻

And that’s all for today’s post. Hope you enjoyed reading up and seeing another update of the road trip that is part of our transit between moving countries 🗺 Spain 🇪🇸 and …?
Not many parts left now 😇

Until my next Post! 👋🏻😎 are you joining me again soon?
Thank you for looking and reading 😊 🙏🏻
